I think there is a difference between spoilers and major spoilers. I don't mind spoilers as essentially a trailer is a spoiler. I didn't mind reading about the Resistance or First Order leading up to TFA. I didn't mind reading Finn was a former Stormtrooper as I like alittle background on the story and characters before I see a movie.

What I avoided was Han Solo being killed by his son, or Luke being in it only at the end, or something like Anakin/Luke's Lightsaber calling out to Rey. Those are tentpole moments I want to experience without any knowledge so I can remember how I felt when first seeing it.

This basically. I can read descriptions of planets and armor, but don't give me Luke's first words or I might destroy you.

I don't like hearing about say, character deaths, but other things, such as Darth Vader being in Rogue One, are alright with me. I typically only like hearing plausible predictions, because a lot of "leaks" articles seem unreliable and too many to follow.

Even with spoilers, we are smacked in the face with Easter eggs and actual performances. No guy behind a keyboard can give a description of a potential spoiler to the same degree as the actors can perform them. Spoilers are fun for reigning in over the top theories and can expand the conversation by giving a path to develop new theories. I am the worst to my friends when I see a movie I wanna talk about it, and if they have seen a movie I haven't yet I pull teeth to find out what happens. It is still the experience of seeing actors and effects perform. Not to mention, no one can spoil the talents of John Williams. Until I hear the music, it is unknown.

I've come to realise that enjoy talking and writing about Star Wars than I do actually watching it! Spoilers are a big part of this enjoyment between the movies being released. And I don't want to write tonnes of posts about something that a spoiler has proven to be false. I like to keep up with what is happening and hope I don't get spoiled too much. I'd try and avoid leaked images of certain characters, script leaks...probably...having said that I'm going through the latest synopsis breakdown leak on Reddit with a fine tooth comb!

All my family and friends can't understand why I read spoilers. They say "I'm ruining the experience". But there's no such thing, I enjoy watching the movie exactly the same when I know the spoilers and when I don't. Actually it's even better to watch the movie after reading spoilers because I know where and when to focus. It's absolutely the same thrill when I read spoilers and when I see particular scene in the movie. That's why I'm thrilled before watching the movie (when I read/watch the spoilers over and over again) and when finally watching it at the cinema.

For me, it's because I'm really excited about a project that I cannot wait to learn more about it. What I'll say is probably very morbid but I tell myself, what if I suddenly die tomorrow? I'd never know what happens in Ep. VIII, so, reading spoilers is a way to cope with this, although this isn't the healthiest point of view on the matter. Truth be told, it's been answered by the Pointer Sisters way back in 1982 : I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.

Ever since the 5th grade, i've been spoiled with TESB. I learned Darth Vader was Luke's father when I was in school, everyone was talking about it, so SW rumors don't bother me. I love the films, and watch them a million times anyway, so SW spoilers don't bother me, however other films franchises that I'm not too invested in, I wouldn't want to be spoiled which is odd I know. The worst spoiler, for me, was finding out in the Terminator Genysis' trailer that John Connor was a terminator. I still like the film despite what the critics say, but that spoiler ruined the film a bit for me. I would have love to find out during the film.

I know I said above that I don't mind spoilers, but I've actually been approaching The Last Jedi differently. I'm not reading or otherwise looking for spoilers on this movie. I'm not watching any more trailers, either. I want to go into this one not knowing what's gonna happen, because I don't really know what that's like. It takes more discipline, but it's been fun so far.
