Rey may not have the BEST Jedi Academy, but it'll certainly be the tidiest.

Are there any Star Wars branded cleaning products? Disney should really get on that.

    LOL, interesting observation!

Rey also cleaned parts as a scavenger before she met Finn.

    One metaphoric extrapolation possibility:

the Jedi, the Rebellion, and Empire left a really big mess across the galaxy after Episode VI.

Someone need to get in on the cleanup.

Well, Jakku is a graveyard of ships. Probably not enough sand to hide it all.

And now, for some reason, I'm thinking WALL-E really would have had a field day recycling there =)

Maybe it’s a bit to obvious but I guess showing again that message of you can have a s*%# job but when extreme circumstances happen you are just as important as the commanders of the ships and generals on the ground

I don't like Broom Boi. Not because he's white, or poor, or a nobody, or a migrant worker, or a child.

I don't like him because he uses the Force actively, WITHOUT ANY TRAINING.

An effort to represent the lower classes, perhaps? like Rey being a scavenger. Cinderellas all over.

I don't think we'll be seeing our Canto Bight orphans again, but maybe they'll get a stand alone film.

The closing scene is more about Luke turing into a legend than about the kid moving the broom. The scene works with or with out the force trick.

Bigger questions is who are Temiri Blagg's parents? How can he use the force without famous parents?

I think that is exactly why we won't see anything of Broom boy. It is about Luke, he dies, a thousand new Lukes rise.

The scene is dark - it took me three times to finally see it.

    tumblr_p246bkGksI1whpja3o1_r1_400.gif

THIS. The broom boy and his friends were just a narrative tool to show that Luke sacrifice worked: the kids playing with action figures spreading the legend and giving hope to the galaxy. The legacy of the Rebellion (ring) and the Jedi (BB is Force sensitive and imagines himself with the lightsaber) lives on.

The only way he shows up is if JJ wants to continue kids' story either by showing them with the Rebels or BB as Rey's student - though I seriously doubt it. I believe the story will be more about our new heroes (and villain) and their personal journeys. But this is what we SW fans do - take any detail, squeeze it to death and give it more meaning than it actually has. ;)

He does have at least one famous parent! Obviously, Kylo and the Knights of Ren went out for a wild night in Canto Bight and Kylo knocked up a cocktail waitress, resulting in broom boy. The Skywalker blood line lives on!!;)

I've watched the "broom" scene about a dozen times now at high and low speed and I think I've discovered something...

    Broom Boy is Rey's father!

HOLY SH1T!!! What intel do you have? Mop Girl and Squeegee Kid are gonna be in The Part 9?? TLJ didn't even HINT at that, and I'm not sure JJ Mr. Abrams can pull that off in a 2 hour movie!! But I've got chills. I.literally.have.chills. Like....I can't even!!

Mop Girl (as everyone agrees) is DEFINITELY dark side. Squeegee Kid, I think, in my opinion, and I'm theorizing here, so maybe, is 'grey.'

What I mean is 'grey' meaning "not sure of dark or light/black or white/good or bad"...so I call it 'grey.' You can call it another color. I prefer the universally accepted and 'correct' 'color' of 'grey.'

Mop Girl, though! I say....screw her!! Broom Boy vs. Mop Girl will be the epic! If I could buy tickets now, I would. But I can't. No one can. But I'll be lining up faster than my kid sister for a Taylor Swift show, and she (and her friends...she has friends) line up SO fast!!

i think the obsession is that any star wars background character becomes a fan fav...i would bet my right hand that the next generation of fans are gonna elevate broom boy via books and games like they did wedge antilles with the x wing novels

Apart from the lols here, no kids in Star Wars, please. They just don’t work. I still get a chill remembering child Anakin (well young Anakin in all its forms) and those wretched younglings he murdered... I even hate that word: ‘younglings’ and Natalie Portman saying it. What a clumsy way of forcing the audience to feel something: ‘Anakin is SO bad, he just murdered all the younglings!’

Here's my Broom Boi in action. Don't worry, as you can clearly tell by the apartment-style cupboards I am not part of the elite 1% forcing him into casino falthier slave labor. But the Force is strong with him.

WALL-E was actually voiced by Star Wars editor/sound designer Ben Burtt.
