Why Will Rey Return to Jakku?

She will return to save Finn from being encased in carbonite by Unkar Plutt

 

Rey would probably only return to Jakku because she's still deluded into thinking that her family will be looking for her .

 

Maz said it herself: There is no going back.

 

About the secret relic on Jakku, is that the reason why the battle of Jakku was fought? It seems like a good place to hide something, yet not a place to just start a random battle.

 

There is something special and powerful about that planet I'd say. Basically same as the ruins of ancient Egypt our world.I'd wager it has something to do with immortality,creating life etc...He surely dreamt of perfectly force-reincarnating to another body.someone with high midichlorian count like vader is certainly first choice,too bad kenobi made sure he was damaged.kind of interesting Rey was shown early in the film as coming from the symbolic ruins of the old.Even living inside the belly of an ATAT(was a powerful gigantic symbol of the empire )! The fact that an AT-AT is non-organic makes this really different
from Lukes symbolic rebirth (inside the TaunTaun's belly)before going to dagobah is worth noting..
It can be said that it is highly unlikely Rey is a clone though.since the force fights back unnatural meddling of the natural balance,resulting to "clone madness". The condition gives the clone an identity crisis of their existence as a being while having uncontolled visions of the memory of their genetic source.
Rey's simultaneous exhibition of different character's traits and talents,her visions that contained perspective,from various living and dead characters is really mind-boggling wouldn't you say?

Do you think Unkar Plutt survived the First Order attack on Takodona? He was losing much blood after an angry Wookie tore off his right arm to protect Rey.

Could Jakku be the place where there is a secret Cloning base?

 

Oh god not clones again, it makes me want to puke.

 

If there is something hidden and/or secretive about Jakku that people would want to find, then it would seem like a strange place to hide a young Rey... if that's indeed the reason her family abandoned her.

 

The first Jedi temple is actually on Jakku.

 

I think the Imperial base will play a major role in the storyline. Rey will have to return to Jakku to deal with what was and is there. I would also like to see her pay a visit to Unkar to get some answers from him.

 

I agree that it is likely she has unfinished business there. The place seems much too detailed to only use for the beginning of the trilogy. I would like to see her return to either find the base or to find answers as to why she was abandoned. I think it would pull the plot together well to have the reveal occur there or have the reveal bring her back there.

 

I personally didn't feel any details on jakku that werent present on Tattooine...if anything, she finally finds her "family" and they go back to the planet and she shows them her old life

But unless they decide to make that secret base something that belonged exclusively to Vader or Palps, wouldn't everything hidden there be obsolete? The First Order seems to have the Empire beat in everything be it ships, troops, vehicles ect to what could possibly be of relevance there on Jakku that would warrant anyone's return there if not Sith secrets? Rey didn't have much belongings and Maz already told her that the person she was waiting for will not return so why go to Jakku at all? Even the secret base itself may not be secure anymore if that knowledge became widely known since Sarco Plank is already on Jakku.

I really don't think we will be seeing that planet again but who knows. What I would really like to know though and even more than there being a base there is why in the world would Rey's parent leave her with that dweeb Unkar Plutt.


Plutt was a real dork towards Rey and he sure in hell didn't look like a nice role model or father figure so why leave a helpless little girl with that creepy blobfish dude?

This. It may sound ludicrus, but if whoever left Rey on Jakku is dead, then Unkar Platt is the only person who can provide answers about the situation; even if he wouldn't know the exact story/mostivation behind it. Just context could help Rey understand a lot.

Which would explain why Unkar Platt's scene in Maz's castle was cut; they need him not to be completely hostile (which would happen if they did cut his hand) towards Rey, so that he'd tell her something.
