Yeah, I finished building a model of the Imperial Shuttle recently, so the details and lines of the ship were fresh in my mind. The more I watched the trailer, the more familiar that shape looked. I found a decent still, and sure enough, there it is. The nose/canopy is pointing to the left, and it's missing it's right wing.

There's also some sort of machine or ship on the right, above the two TIE Fighter wings, but I can't identify it-

That makes a lot of sense as far as a reboot and mirroring the original trilogy. That's how the Death Star found the base on yavin. And now it's how the star killer finds takindoa. Very plausible, very lame.

    I hope you are joking.
If a CR-90 can fit, then the Falcon would have no problem fitting.

To expand upon that point, here's a diagram showing the relative sizes of the Falcon (YT-1300), the Blockade Runner (CR-90), and
    an Imperial Class Star Destroyer-

Starkiller is supposedly a planet. How would they even move the planet. if Star Wars had real-world physics, moving the planet constantly would wreak havoc on the environments of the planet that Starkiller is located on, making it completely UN-LIVABLE for the staff on this base. It's changed would be similar to if we didn't have a moon and our tides.

It's an interesting idea, and would be cool, but why would Han and Chewie leave the Falcon as junk? That's the hard part to buy. If Rey could fix it, Han and Chewie no doubt could. It's a nice idea but I just can't find the strength to think Han would leave the Falcon as junk. It's the fastest ship in the galaxy. Or is it? I just wondered, is the Falcon still the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy??

my crazy idea is that the first time we see the MF in TFA is during that tie fighter chase entering the back engine of that crashed super star destroyer like we saw in trailer 2 and in trailer 3 at the 1:55 min mark etc. BUT we have no idea who is flying the MF. and since that hunk-o-junk has been owned or borrowed or leased by 10 different owners we can come to the possibility that han sold it to maybe nien numb or anyone else he was friends with in the time of episode 6. so then the falcon crashes or seems to be crashing in flames etc and months later rey finds it and finds the hologram table and gets information about han, leia and that is how she meets everyone else.

Cool that Rey saw the art and decided to act in TFA...as Daisy Ridley.

Oh yeah, right. I suppose I didn't think about Han not even owning it anymore. Maybe Han lost the Falcon in a bad beat playing Corellian Hold 'Em. Yeah that's possible. Good eye on the pic find, guess we'll see but it would be a cool idea for sure.

Word. I doubt the Starkiller moves, but it would still need to find its target to aim. From the poster, it looks like the "gun" moves around the equator to aim, while the planet (I'd imagine) stays in its orbit.

The falcon would have to have survived and be intact, somewhere in that Death Star. A longshot.

If that is the hypothetical configuration, the thing could only fire in one plane around the circumference of the planet.... unless they can actually point it different directions like a telescope. Otherwise, and if the planet is not mobile, that seems awfully limited for the resources it must have taken to build.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. They should've built a cross track.

I suppose that they very well might move the Starkiller planet. I'd imagine they'd explain the survival with force fields, artificial gravity and other technobabble. They should still wreck any system they visit, but they might not care, lol. Granted, SW has never been about realistic science or technology, so I suppose such issues are incidental.

I agree that Star Wars has never been beholden to real science, but it still needs to pass the "suspension of disbelief" test...
