Snoke had a Master or a puppeteer. Snoke was just a dead Avatar for another Force being. That Being wanted Kylo to kill off Snoke the puppet.

I don’t think they will bring in a new villain at this point. It seems likely to me that they wanted Kylo to ascend to the position of Supreme Leader. It would also be a little anticlimactic if they were to bring in a new leader this late into the sequel trilogy. To me it would seem out of place.

I think it’s far more likely that they bring in a James Bond like henchman for Ren or simply use the very underused Knights of Ren in that role.

I don’t think so I mean it’s the last In the sequel trilogy. We have a good bunch of characters left. I think it would be crazy to introduce a new villain as it means more doors would be opening etc and it’s the last of the trilogy. I think just keep with the same villains and no more new characters as it is about to wrap up.

I've been thinking about whether Kylo might take on a new apprentice of his own, and it seems like quite a dilemma to me. On the one hand, if he doesn't take an apprentice, there is essentially no way his philosophy can continue after he is gone. But if he does take one, dark-side apprentices seem to have a rather nasty habit of betraying their masters...

We could see an ending similar to EP III . . . darkness wins and the good lives to fight another day. TLJ didnt "feel" like the middle of a trilogy so they could pull a fast one and continue to setup Ren as the big baddie, develop some layers to the evil in the galaxy, and begin cementing Rey by revealing her deeper history and continue to push here to the forefront of the light.

Could be an interesting way to take this and would help cure the distaste some have for TLJ without doing the perceived redemption-through-ultimate-sacrifice RJ seems to have boxed Ren into too soon.

Really the only choice is KoR and makes the most sense. Easy to re-introduce. We already have an idea who they are. No question of who is this guy. Fill the void of Snoke and his guards as well. Makes perfect sense and continues the story. Not to mention easy to answer where was KoR during TLJ. They were out handling other systems while Snoke, Ren and the leadership of the FO was out taking out the Resistance.

An apprentice for Kylo? Maybe the Knights of Ren finally appear? Maybe, if they are already destroyed, Kylo starts a dark jedi order? But Kylo is the big bad now. Years will have passed between 8 and 9.

I predict there will be a knight of ren only joining kylo and this will be a woman. I think that could bring something interesting to the table.

I can’t realistically see them introducing another major villain. The Last Jedi clearly progressed Kylo Ren’s story so that he could be the main villain, rather than predictably putting Snoke in the role that Palpatine played in Return of the Jedi. I think Kylo Ren will be the main villain, but with JJ helming Episode IX, I’m pretty sure the Knights of Ren will show up in some way.

Part of me wouldn’t be surprised to see Snoke pop up again, but it seems pretty unlikely. I think it’s more likely they try and milk Phasma again.

The only thing is that, if Kylo is redeemed earlier on in the film, they will need another main villain and Hux just doesn’t cut it. But I’m pretty sure Kylo will be the big bad of Episode IX. I can’t see them introducing that many new characters in Episode IX because that was one of the issues people had with The Last Jedi. I enjoyed all of the new characters, but if they keep adding more and more, it’s hard to give all of their storylines the amount of substance they need to be good, so... I would imagine they’ll just stick to Kylo Ren being the main villain.

Initially, I was nearly convinced that Snoke was a puppet (like has been said above), but now that Kylo has taken the throne, I think he's going to go on a "power-bender" and be insanely out of control.

At that point, I think that Kylo now will be enough of a villain that stopping him might be a monumental task in itself...so no, no new villains.

I don’t think Pharma has force ability that I know of... Also she seems to be part of Finn’s story line, not Kylo’s and Rey’s which is by far the most interesting one.

Am I crazy or are their supposed to be 2 sith character's at a given time? Am I wrong about that? If so, a surprise could be coming now that Snoke is halved.

True, Snoke was not a Sith...however if he WAS actually a puppet, we could see an epic struggle between the master of Snoke that emerges from the shadows, and the self-entitled Kylo Ren...for that throne.

Such a battle in and of itself could leave a trail of destruction across the galaxy the width of a star system, especially with all of the dark-side use of the Force at play, and it might be up to Rey to end it....but I think that story would potentially be longer than we have time left in the trilogy.

I really hope not. They can still make use of the enemies which they already have. Such as Kylo and Hux. I think Hux will come into his own and have a major role in IX. who knows maybe phasma will come back better and stronger in 9. It just doesn’t make sense to me it would be ridiculous as there are already so many still alive.

Episode IX has both Kylo Ren and General Hux. Why would the movie need a third villain?

Exactly they would have to be crazy to add a third. It’s the finale to the trilogy so why get everyone hyped up on a new character right at the end. It just means the fans will want another backstory on a character we barely know like snoke etc. And that’s exactly what Disney and Lucas Film don’t need at the moment that’s for sure.
