Will Lando return in Episode IX?

I voted no because I really don't think he'd be interested in it. Also, how would he fit into the story? There is the potential to bring him into the narrative, but who would know him at this point? Leia would be gone and Luke transcended to the Force. Unless Leia mentions Lando to Poe before her passing, Rey , in contact with Luke through the force, learns about him. I just don't see it happening. If they did bring him insomehow, then great! So, long it fits the narrative and he's not shoehorned in. Seen enough of that.

 

I also don't think he will be in IX. Already too many characters in TLJ who struggled to have a backstory.

 

I think now with Donald doing his rendition in the Solo film I think that’s the closest we will get to seeing Lando again. Plus I don’t see what bringing him into the final chapter will serve story wise. If it was TFA when Han was alive maybe. But sadly I doubt it

However like everything else that’s purely speculation and I could be wrong. I guess we’ll see Christmas 2019

On a side note it was cool to see (more hear) Billy Dee Williams voice Lando in battlefront ll

 

Not really sure how I feel now.

On one hand, it would be nice having an original cast member like Lando around again.

On the other, I don't want it to feel like the only reason he's around is the fact that he's the only person (human) who is both alive and playing a character that is also still alive.

If they brought him back, I'd want a good reason, and I think his part should be relatively small.

 

Where's the maybe option ? I know it's probably a weird idea, but if there's a Leia funeral, Lando show's up to pay respects. ??

 

Again, I hope they don’t bring him back because they will only kill him off in favor of giving a character like Rose Tico more screen time. Leave at least one classic character alive and well

 

Judging by destiny of just about every original trilogy( human )character that appeared in new trilogy precise thread name would be:

Under the assumption that this is true, I wonder if they decided to write off Leia via the crawl? It is the easiest choice.

 

Ok, now we can speculate how Lando has also become a loser since ROTJ too.............

Maybe Lando knows how the Lightsaber got found on Bespin and made its way to Maz Kanata, but I wouldn't hold my breath about it.

 

That is one of the worst plot points of this Trilogy, as only JJ would come up with something like that. And even worse, there is no explanation as Maz says, "That's a conversation for another time..." What a trainwreck this Trilogy is.

Because it’s a legit criticism about the ST and someone addressed that plot point relating it to Lando in a previous post.

For the record, I enjoy the ST films as I think they’re well done and look great. But the story is so frustrating because it seems like a mishmash Trilogy of things thrown together. I say this because the PT has a very interesting story that jives nicely with the OT, but they are poorly executed and loaded with CGI.

I’m here because I hope that JJ can somehow tie this Trilogy with atleast the OT so the narrative was worth it.

 

That would be fantastic after Solo and would be the perfect way to close the Falcon's story. I approve!
