if he was force drained then wouldnt he be dead? Because midichlorians make up the force. If they make up all living things, then, without them, he's dead

purposely missed out the 'm' word from your quote lol

if he was drained of all living force.. he wouldn't be dead, but he would have no spark.. no soul.. no integrity.. he would be completely cold.
so he could still be a lawyer or something like that ?

I personally think that Luke has a lot of room still for story and that to kill him off in TLJ would be a waste. Also we just lost Han Solo in TFA, I don't want to lose Han in 7 then Luke in 8 oh and then Leia in 9 maybe. I think that's too much. If you look at the trajectory of the previous trilogies it goes as follows

    Film 1
Mentor Character dies. (Qui-Gon, Kenobi, Han Solo)

    Film 2
No mentors or main characters die but lead loses an arm or limb (Anakin Right arm, Luke Right hand, potentially Rey or Kylo losing a hand or a leg or something)

    Film 3
A changing of one of the charters from good to evil or visa versa and then "dies". granted it was the same character (Anakin turns evil "dies" and becomes Darth Vader, Darth Vader redeemed and turns back into Anakin "dies" and become a force Jedi, Kylo Ren to Ben Solo? maybe "dies" as a solo and is adopted by Luke as a son and is redeemed/reborn as Ben Skywalker. or not just a suggestion)

Obviously not everything happens exactly the same or will necessarily but do think that it would be a poor choice for them to kill of Luke unless it is absolutely crucial to Rey's story or Ben's story. But I feel he'll at least survive through 9

I don't want him to die either, and I was pretty sure he was going to live beyond this trilogy. SW started as his story, I thought they'll keep him alive for as long as possible…

But this title….it can't be about him, that would be too obvious. On top of that, we can't have a new movie centered around an old character. If they were going to do something like that, they would have done it with TFA. It would have been a nice passing of the torch, the story focusing on Luke while the new characters emerged slowly. But doing it now….it makes no sense, the fans are interested in the story set up by TFA, which involves very interesting, young characters. Whoever the last Jedi really is, it's one of the new characters, and TLJ will be focusing on them. So my guess is Luke will die heroically, after saving that character from either death or the dark side…..I don't know, maybe after saying something in the lines of…..Now YOU are the last Jedi....or something like that. It would be sad but it would also be a worthy, heroic death that everyone would remember fondly. Also, in this scenario Luke would die knowing that he managed to keep the legacy of the Jedi alive, in other words, knowing that he achieved his purpose after the failure of the Jedi school. It would be a beautiful thing to see. And whoever the new Jedi is, they'd be motivated to fight HARD….and bring down the giant raisin known as Snoke :) I'm probably wrong, but that's what I'd like to see. It would be a great twist too, because the viewers would only realize what the title means towards the end of the movie. I know Luke's death itself would be shocking, I mean we've already seen a father figure dying….but this time, it would happen with a sense of victory instead of dread and hopelessness. And SW 7 and 8 would rhyme, making Lucas proud :)

I really don't see Luke dying in TLJ. The title on a surface level is obviously about Luke as the TFA crawl specifically call him that. Rian also in an interview said the movie is going to deal with what has been going on with Luke and what happens between him and Rey. Will it end up having multiple meanings? Possibly. Colin has plans for Luke and I don't believe they are strictly as a force ghost. I could be wrong but I would bet credits on Luke surviving.

I also believe that Luke will survive Ep. 8. We hardly saw him in 7, and for the simple fact, we lost General Organa. The story has to deal with her loss, and to deal with Luke's loss as well? in the same episode, would feel rushed in IMHO. I think by the 3rd act of Ep. 8 we might experience Organa's demise, most likely in a resistance / FO battle in space. ( If not possibly the first act of Ep.9) I think Luke will pass in the next trilogy if we get one. Hopefully he will still be with us. Nothing concrete to base this on just my gut. At my age its best to listen and hone my gut. It helps allot. When men reach my age the gut is a very good devise to utilize.

Yeah I know with Obi Wan reaching his grey years, it soon could be Luke's time. But hey his pals in the force will have a homecoming waiting for him.

no thanks, I don't want to see Luke dying. That's too much after Carrie is gone in real life. Noone of the OT3 left to care and be excited for IX. :(
