Why did I think that Snoke’s ship was the one Rose and Finn used to escape to Crait and got sliced in half as it entered the cave?

it would be cool if she flew with the guidance of Luke Skywalker through the force, just like Luke was guided by Ben Kenobi in the OT

That ship would have been way too small for Snoke. : P

Now that would have been cool! Besides getting from A to B with a starship is most always something that is worth showing on screen, think of RotJ with the big 3 using the old code to get past the shields... big chance missed here IMO

I don't know enough to say one way or the other if Rey is going to have an X-wing to call her own. She can definitely pilot the Falcon when the need arises.

Information that has come to light in the past 24 hours indicates that there's going to be at least one Episode 9 vehicle in the Hasbro Vintage Collection toy line. As for what that vehicle is? Your guess is as good as mine right now. My money was on an X-Wing, but I don't know if we're going to see Poe in the cockpit of an X-Wing again after the events of The Last Jedi.

I just thought he was misinformed ‘cos he’s a bit of an eejit and all that :p ... but I know, if he had made a mistake, we would know for sure, wouldn't we? Jeez we don't want to give some another excuse to cry "bad writing" or "lazy storytelling", do we?
You're right, Snoke seems (seemed haha) quite a flamboyant dude. He wouldn't have been caught dead in a vessel inferior his young apprentice's :D

When I posted this thread, I'd totally forgotten this image. How cool would it be to bookend the sequels with this image? The awkward, too-big helmet in TFA, and a clean, well-fitting helmet in IX, a visible sign that she's grown up into a hero.

Of course she will and she'll be the best fighter pilot who has ever flown in the history of the galaxy and on her first try.

I'd like to see a sequence with Rey, Poe, Snap, Rose, Finn and others (maybe Iden's daughter as well) on all together at the start of the movie. I'd imagine at least some of them would be in fighters some on the ground.

Not sure where I'd rather see Rey. On the one hand, she's demonstrated herself as a pretty capable pilot. On the other, not is she also effective on the ground, but has also sort of taken on Solo's mantle of the captain of the Falcon alongside Chewie.

Again though... part of this stems from the widespread problem of the first two films covering such a small period of time. Frankly, I'm not sure we really know Rey well enough to say what she should do.

What I mean by that is this: consider James McAvoy. I watched this week's SNL last night, and was really surprised at how thick of a Scottish accent he has. I thought to myself that it was strange that he'd held onto it, having worked in film for so long. But obviously, my perception is warped. Every time I've seen McAvoy, he's been in a film where he's had either a British or American accent, so until last night that was 100% of my impression of him. But for himself, he probably talked in his original voice the majority of his life, and the other voices are his accents.

Same could go for Rey. What we see as an attachment to the Falcon could just be her having to use it during the sequences of TFA and TLJ. Rose and Finn's "romance" might've just been a fling over the course of a few days. Heck, maybe Poe's just had a good week flying and isn't usually that successful, regardless of how cocky he is.

I guess this is a strength in that it allows the characters to be flexible in IX, but it also makes this type of speculation tough.

I don't personally see it, as (to me) she seems like more of an "operator" on the ground than a fighter pilot...even if it was by change, or in a pinch that she had to in order to make an escape. I don't think we'll see it on screen.

So I was thinking about a few of the images we have seen and I think it is possible Rey may pilot an X-Wing

first we had the initial blurry Twitter image of the cockpit of the Falcon which shows Finn. Initially it was not clear who was piloting the Falcon but then the images leaked with Poe, Finn, Chewbacca, Naomi Ackie’s character and the horses. In those photos we see Poe in a white shirt that resembrtje sleeve we see in the Twitter image. Some we know Poe, Finn, and Chewbacca take the Falcon at some point

Now unless Rey is with them she needs to be somewhere doing something. If she is not with the Falcon she needs to fly something else to go where she needs to go. It would make sense if it is a X-Wing.

I think it might be cool if they did something similar to the opening of E3.... where Rey is in an X-Wing, and does a little bit of dogfighting, but is using it as a means of traveling to some other objective, not with the goal of winning a space battle in it.

I have to disagree. Rey's piloting skills are a big deal in TFA ("We need a pilot!" "We've got one!") and her ship knowledge earns Han's respects. And in TLJ she flies the Falcon into battle. Even if she doesn't fly an X-wing specifically, I'd be bummed if IX just drops the Rey-as-pilot theme.
