    Isn't it possible that Luke already studied flight while growing up and/or had some experience with farm or hobby equipment?

    I'm referring to her flying an X-wing. There's little doubt in my mind that she'll be at the controls of the Falcon, but not a fighter specifically.

    To my point though, we now know she can pilot AND fight in a ship. I'm still hoping for Rey in an X-wing.

    I want to see the Falcon in an excessive amount action so I want all Rey's flying with Chewie on the Falcon.

    The movie itself - well the SE version that is - has Biggs vouching for Luke's skill as "the best bush pilot in the Outer Rim" so it is a good exposition of Luke's abilities. If we're allowed to reference the EU, then both the T-16 and X-Wing are manufactured by Incom and have similar controls... but I honestly don't remember where that little factoid first appears.

    Haven't MSW heard she has Luke's helmet in recent rumours. I don't luke speculating about information because I am usually wrong. But I wouldn't be shocked if she flies something others than the falcon. Also there are rumours of Rey being separated she's probably going to need her own transport. Plus the falcon seems to be a floating resistance base in space at the end of TLJ.

    If they return to Achto, much like Luke's return to Dagobah to talk to Yoda, she may speak to Luke's ghost and retrieve his helmet there. A nice nod to ROTJ. Not out of the realm of possibility. Also, keep in mind they may have "felt" Luke become one with the Force or whatever, but she might want to return to Achto to be sure. Lots of nostalgia to be had.

    In light of some of the latest rumors . . .

    How frickin cool would it be if Rey lifts Luke's X-Wing out of the water and uses it in IX? I don't expect this, but I would be out of my seat cheering.
