Will Rey get her butt kicked in this movie.

She already been defeated by Ren, he captured her very easily at the start.

 

Judging by her meteoric rise in power level....


And the training she receives from Luke....

I predict.....

I agree. She could've cut him down and killed him and maybe she would have if not being separated by the chasm between them.

In reality, she was getting beat until he taunted her about needing a teacher and the force. Then she got focus.

But Kylo came close to the light while Rey came close to the dark.

 

What if they don't fight eachother at all? I don't think they should fight every movie, ruins it's gravitas. But Rey has other Knights to fight. And who knows what Benicio del toro is?

 

I really hope she does. Her beating Kylo Ren didn't sit right with me.

I'd like a change up. Kylo Ren is healed, trained, and defeats her relatively easily. That will build up momentum for an Episode 9 final confrontation.

 

Just something that seemed to come through in the acting and choreography during the fight. I didn't believe that he was trying to kill her. It's certainly not canon or anything but if it's true, beating someone who you believed was trying to kill you, who actually wasn't, would definitely set up overconfidence and a later fall back to reality.

 

We KNOW that he wasn't trying to kill her. Both his whole "I can teach you" line, and Snoke explicitly ordering him to "bring her to me" earlier on.

 

Snoke vs Rey : Snoke wins, Rey turns to the darkside
Luke vs Kylo : Kylo is defeated and saved by the Knights of Ren, but learns that he has been replaced. He goes on a vendetta against Snoke and Darkside Rey.

There you have it : a 3-sided war

Luke, Finn, Poe ( Resistance ) vs Kylo Ren and the KoR vs Snoke and Rey ( First Order )

On a more serious note, I really think Snoke, Kylo Ren and The Knights of Ren are going to be a central part of the movie.
