From the very moment that it was announced that the EU was no longer canon there have been lots of questions in the minds of many of us SW fans. I for one have been pondering many things and asking myself if little by little we will learn of the fate of some of our favorite characters or if Disney is just going to move forward and leave many of us hanging and never knowing what became of our favorites. Many SW characters that were nobodys and that maybe only appeared for just a few minutes were given rich wonderful backstories in the EU and they gained even more followers. Having so many characters I love and even some I don't makes me question lots of things now that EU is no longer canon. I mean, did guys like Tessek, Bossk, Max Rebo and Bib Fortuna survive the sail barge explosion? EU had all those characters survive yet now their fates are clouded. Were the B'omarr Monks really an enlightend society that transfered their brains into those spider droids or are they now just another type of droid? What about Dengar? EU had him being a normal guy until an illegal swoop race with Han Solo left him horribly disfigures and it wasn't until after the Empire had rebuilt him with cybernetics that after a time he became a Bounty Hunter yet CW showed us a young healthy non disfigured Dengar who was already a Bounty Hunter.

The same can be said of Boba Fett and Bossk's relationship. In the EU, these two guys were bitter rivals yet CW has given us a very different take on this tale yet leaves us with no clue as to why Bossk has put up with kid Boba in the first place. Did he know Jango and made a promise to him that if something ever happened to him he would care for Boba? Then there's the fate of Jabba's empire. Did Zorba the Hutt take over or has all of this changed now that we know that Jabba had a son? Will we see an adult Rotta in the new saga? Does he have a beef with our heros knowing it was they who killed his dad? If he knows the truth, will he put a bounty on Leia just as his dad had done with Solo? If I'm not mistaken, TFA happens 30 years after Jedi so seeing as how Leia is alive and well it makes me wonder if some of these stories will ever be told.

Then again there is also a positive side to all of this as well. Many favorites who's fates we saw in the EU can now have a new chance at life. I always loved Tessek and I was very bummed that he survived the barge explosion only to have his brain removed by the B'omarr Monks and stuck within a spider droid. Now that everything is new I have some hope that maybe our old tentacle faced friend's fate can fare a little better. I know that we have been left in the dark about characters like Durge, Jodo Kast, Thrawn and Odan-Urr who can only be made canon if they are used or at least mentioned in the new movies or the new canon material but what of the characters who are in the movies that we knew so much about? What do you guys think about all of this?
