Will we see an anthology film based on a character from TFA?...

No one introduced so far seems worthy of their own film, certainly expanded universe material like comics, books, video games but until we see TFA on the 17th (cheers to anyone not in the US) I'm going to say 'no.'

 

Well pretty much if there's going to be an anthology film about someone in the new movies it would have to be someone a little older (so they'd actually have much more of their history to explore and expand upon) and someone who ends up being pretty popular with the audience. Although Hux may be an interesting character I doubt he'll have a movie centered around him because being a militant isn't interesting enough to the wider audience (kids and teens) unlessss you make it exclusively for adults (that could be cool). Someone that pops into mind would be Poe - since he mirrors Han Solo OT age and seemingly charisma. I'd like one about maybe Phasma or Snoke based on what we know so far.

 

Snoke. There is probably an interesting story about his background, how the First Order arose, and how he became their supreme leader.

 

Well that really depends how we look at things. Remember that some of the most awesome SW characters were just dudes that were eye candy until there stories were expanded. A certain Fett fellow was just eye candy in one movie and died in a humiliating way in the next and now he's the SW version of DC's Batman or the Wolverine from Marvel. I would give characters like Sidon Ithano a chance as I really think that they can give him a great story just like many of SW's famous background characters.

 

Exactly who I was thinking of. His helmet is even from the same planet as General Grievous, which should quiet down those who claim Disney is avoiding the PT going forward.

 

So true Laggamaroo. And for those who say that Disney is avoiding the PT, they really have to take a better look at TFA cause there are a few podracer flags in Maz Kanata's castle including Anakin's and Sebulba's as well as some podracer engines on Jakku. Kylo Ren's clone army comment was also a nudge to the prequels so I really don't understand where the people that say these things are coming from.

 

Wow it's pretty funny reading the stuff I said leading up to the film. Speaking now with context, I can say I would love to see characters like captain Ithano and his pirate crew pop up again in the sequels or in their own spin off.
