SPECULATION Will we see Luke and Kylo Ren interact in Episode VIII?

I think you're right, they probably wouldn't be allowed to film a fight up there considering its UNESCO status and the birdlife etc. I don't think that means there can't be a Anch-to fight though - they have the coastline which they are using as a quasi Skellig, and they have recreated the top of the island apparently at Pinewood studios. The reason for that may simply be to work around the variable weather and the heritage status, but it means they can film whatever they like. Johnson I don't think has JJ's obsession with 'real sets' and authentic authenticity.

 

They will meet for lunch and discuss hair and beard styles.

Luke"I love your hair, man. Did you Mousse?"

Kylo"I'll show you the dark side."

Luke"Yes, I see it your hair is so dark."

Kylo" Look how old you've become."

Luke"So you're saying dye my hair and beard darker?"

 

i would love a battle of lightsabers between luke and kylo and Kylo saying the phrase "The last time we met i was but a learner, now i am the master" or that Luke tells him come back to the light you know you dont belong in the dark side and kylo responding the old "you dont know the power of the dark side".

It would be awesome!!!! and luke saying something on the lines of yoda.. and obi wan, i believe the lines Lor San Tekka said were very Jedish something among those lines would kick ass

 

There has to be some final resolution to the Jedi Academy massacre. Also, don't forget the teacher/apprentice, uncle/nephew story. Not sure if it'll be Ep 8 or 9 but it's coming.

 

I don't think that he and Rey NEED to stay on that island all that long. One, you risk seeming like you're redoing the Dagobah scenes. And two, we already kind of know how Jedi training works from TESB. So I don't know that spending half the movie watching Rey do handstand and practicing levitating rocks with The Force, would be all that compelling this time around. I'd like to, and I cannot believe that I'm saying this, see something more like TPM. Qui Gon was basically giving Obi Wan "on the job training." So Luke and Rey go on some kind of galaxy-hopping adventure, and he's teaching her on the fly, but nothing beats hands-on experience.

And you can easily write a scenario to make it happen. One of the things that Kylo DID pull from Rey's mind when he interrogated her was that she dreams of the planet where Luke turns out to be. So, perhaps Kylo of Snoke, figured out that this is connected to Luke, figure out where the planet is (or maybe it turns out that Snoke already knows), and then he and the FO attack, forcing Luke, Rey, Chewie, etc to flee.

And yes, I believe that Luke and Kylo will have some kind of a confrontation during the movie. They need to resolve the whole Jedi Massacre thing in some way, as previously stated above.

I also can see a scenario where Kylo exploits some weakness in Rey and defeats/injures her in the climax, perhaps with help from the KOR. Then Luke has to step in to save her, and engages Kylo and the other knights (with a wounded Rey helping as best she can).
