yes, because I have to own the 9 film cycle. I've certainly had a strange relationship with this film, though, so far. Was disappointed after first viewing, loved it after second viewing and grew to kinda hate it after thinking about it for the last couple months. I'm hoping seeing it again on home video will turn me back around to the "love" column.

regardless, yes, gotta have a SW movie in 4k, even if it's (currently) one of my least favorite. A "bad" SW film is still head and shoulders above most other Hollywood films. and who knows, maybe it'll become a favorite after a handful more viewings.

 

I wish I could buy the digital 4K version, but they're not releasing it in my country... We still get the gimmicky 3D version, though... I don't know what's the problem with releasing digital 4K in all regions.

 

I cancelled the copy I had on pre-order some days ago. This is the last item I skipped now after cancelling already several other SW novels and comics. I took very long for this decision, but it is as it is now. I did not make it easy for me, you can really believe me.

 

Awe, come now my friend. Don't let your dislike for one film ruin your love for Star Wars. Star Wars is much more than just movie and your fandom has to run deeper than that.

 

Agreed. And for the first time in Star Wars history, we don't have to worry about it ending.
We don't have to sit and think "Gee, will the next trilogy be in 20 years or 25?" we know there is a flood of content for us. So if one thing doesn't work there are plenty of other options coming down the pike next year.

 

I do understand your optimism and will be happy if everyone of you find something to like. It just seems to be a hard time if Luke Skywalker is your favorite character and you were so enthusiastic to learn more about him. Doubt he will play much of a role in upcoming movies, novels, comics or other media. It is just we had bad luck.

 

Sho Nuff, could chance they will be something for everyone. Just gotta give each an equal chance.

Once the trilogy is done, I would imagine there will be a novel or two filling in the time between ROTJ and TFA that involves what Luke was doing during this time.

 

Rebels didn't end as well as I had hoped for.
Oh well. I will be back on the train for the next story Filoni will tell (even though it will undoubtedly be Asokha 3.0 lol).
I griped for a few days and remembered there's another story coming soon enough.

I didn't like the PT at all and while I still have fits of hatred and mocking them, I owned them. Eventually even on bluray...

Cant dwell on the hate. If you love Star Wars just focus on what you love about it. Life will get much better.

I haven't finished watching Rebels yet. I'm having surgery on the 27th of March and will have 6 weeks of recovery so Im saving it along with Got and TWD to have something to watch and catch up on.

 

Oh then ignore the Asohka thing.
She gets eaten by a space whale. Full on Jonah/Pinocchio style.

We know how bad it ended and it was even mentioned in the TLJ novel that Luke mainly 'obsessively' searched for Jedi lore. All of this was destroyed in the end. It is not an encouraging outlook to be honest. I just think they will more focus on the new characters even in novels and animation series.

Even though both of us were extremely disappointed in TLJ, my husband insists we buy it so we have the entire set. However, I have flat out refused to buy it and told him he could pick it up himself.

 

no f-ing way. If someone buys me present to add the saga then fine but don't expect me to watch it. I also get irritated when I see gifs all over twitter, I'd rather watch rats climbing up into toilets.

 

That's a collector issue : you just need something to fill that movie's gap on the shelf.

Just make him a homemade version of the box, and put a short summary of the movie inside.
Problem solved.

Yes as a matter of fact I am thinking of getting a 4K player just for TLJ (got the 4K TV awhile back)
