Thought this might be an interesting conversation starter considering some of the other threads here that have discussed. Is anyone on these forums planning to actually skip Rogue One, or all the anthology movies to simply focus on the episodic story-line? Are you planning to pick and choose which anthology movies you'll see based off marketing material going forward? Will you just see them all?

What are your plans as of right now for the projected anthology movies and will Rogue One's success/failure determine your decisions moving forward?

I think this is an ERA thing. I loved the Original Era - Empire Era, i disliked the movie threatment given to the Prequel Era - Republic Era, despite considering the plot has great potentialities and we're starting to watch the Sequel Era - New Republic Era.

Honestly i prefer to go watch a movie about the Empire Era than a SW Movie on any other Era, simply because i love the characters from that era. I believe there's plenty of room for new movies in the Empire Era, they could deliver a couple of trilogies from the gap betwen ESB and ROTJ, or the time betwen Ep III and Ep IV not forgetting the time imediatly after ROTJ.

i'm still a little burn-shy of anything outside the current forward continuity. was never a fan of the EU or any of that. i also don't think we need a young Han Solo movie. we'll see if the buzz is infectious.

right now i feel rather immunized.

    I guess some people will.
I can't imagine that the TFA Money record can be broken from a anthology movie.
    Nonetheless I will watch them.
Otherwise when the trailer sucks then I guess not. (official information/leaks/rumors will also help to find out)

just out of curiosity, what defines a "hardcore" fan? someone who just accepts anything Star Wars no matter who dishes it or what it is? or is there some kind of discernment involved?

Hardcore: the most active, committed, or doctrinaire members of a group or movement.
Fan (short for fanatic): a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, especially for an extreme religious or political cause.

Unless the trailer/s look abysmal, I won't see it in theaters. But I do plan on seeing it. I's Star Wars.
If this and VIII are dreadful, Disney may push dates back, and things cool down. This may be our only chance to see this many new Star Wars film ever!

I will definitely see all of them. I'd probably still see them even if they turn out to be bad movies.

As of right now, i'm thinking of seeing Rogue One but skipping the Solo movie. It's a movie i don't need and feel like it could just be a book. Trailers could sway me of course ;)

Ummmm, No. And neither will millions of others. I'm betting R1 Climbs up there with other all-time top movies!

I think if this is Saving Private Ryan in the Star Wars universe, it will be awesome. I think it will be more of a caper type movie.
