The things I'm reading about Rogue One have me more excited than Ep 8. These anthology films could be bigger than the sequels.

Admittedly, I'm not nearly as excited about the Anthology movies as I am the main story, and I really don't know how interested I am in seeing the Death Star plans being stolen, a young Han Solo, or anything about Boba Fett, but I'll no doubt see them anyway.

Now if these stories were about say...Yoda, or maybe even Luke (after Endor), then I might be interested, but not so much. As I said, I'll go see them, but probably not on opening day.

I wouldnt skip the anthology if they made them prior TPM. Jedis and siths battle back in the day would be dope to watch. or a movie before TFA with the failed Jedi academy and Luke and KOR would be dope. Ill prolly watch them just cause but I just dont see the point of R1 when we already know the outcome. The characters dont factor in the movie going on. I watch rebels as well but they invested alot of characters that the show has a part in SW saga. I feel with a movie and the characters in R1 wont have a jedi(unless Kanan/Asoka/Obi) will be in it.

I won't. I have ZERO interest in these offshoots from the Saga.

I can't believe how many people are getting sucked in by these cash grabs with the Star Wars logo on them. Learning how the Rebellion stole the Death Star plans is like learning who made Threepio, or how R2 had booster rockets in the PT. Not important to me.

Count me in for the Anthology films.

I will gladly give each one a chance and judge each film independently by what I see. Everything I've heard so far for Rogue One points to awesomeness, so bring them on.

At least Disney seems committed to taking Star Wars development and its global fanbase seriously enough. The pressure will ever be on them to maintain quality, and, given the rich material they have, I believe they can deliver as long as they remain true to the things that make Star Wars great.

And, like so many fans, I simply hope to see more Star Wars films. (And, in this vein of wish-fulfillment, more Matrix. But that's another problem....)

It's an opinion I've maintained for years: there is unbelievably untapped potential in the Star Wars galaxy -- characters ,eras, places, and concepts deserving big-screen-treatment.

Sometimes the trilogy structure seems insufficient, while other stories world work well as individualized anthology films.

I would be one of those hoping for "extended editions." Where's Peter Jackson when you need him? I'd love to see him work on an Old Republic / founding of the Jedi / Sith trilogy. Bane on screen. And maybe a Yoda origin film could rock.

For me, it has always been a great time to be a Star Wars fan, but, with this veritable tsunami of new material and possibilities, it's downright exciting.

Search your feelings: you know it to be true.

Absolutely not. I'm not gonna miss this saturation of Star Wars content for the world.

just an FYI to some posters on here, i didn't mean "skipping" as not seeing any. I was more curious if people are going to take a "pick and mix" approach to the anthologies. So for example: watch rogue one, skip han solo etc etc etc, as they came out.

I always try to have an open mind...so I'll give these anthology films a try and see how they stand on their own outside the main story of the Skywalker saga. :)

personally i'm really excited for rogue one, the premise is really cool. the rest, even if they aren't great, will still be nice filler between saga films.

Why would anyone in their right mind skip any Star Wars movie? Even if it's bad, I'm gonna be there. I can complain about it later.

I have no desire to skip any of the anthology films. Even if I thought they would be awful, I'm not going to miss one (I've been wrong before about movies and shows. For instance, I thought I would hate the show Scream Queens, but I found myself thoroughly enjoying it).
Even if I am not the most interested in the idea, I will still see it. Do I want a Han Solo film? Not really. But that doesn't mean it can't be good or I can like it. Same thing on a theorized Boba Fett film. I don't really want it, but it could be a very cool movie, so I'll go see it.
Skipping just doesn't make sense to me.

Well Rogue One looks absolute SICK and DOPE so far based on the concept, cast and little preview teaser. I am PUMPED for this one at least! :)

Hell No I won't skip the anthologies! If it's great, I won't want to miss it. So I'll be there at the cinema dressed up on opening night, and then I'll be getting drunk in the pub next door celebrating or comiserating afterwards. Besides, if it's bad I would like to be able to cain it and disect it with authority. But I'm sure either way, I'll enjoy myself immensely.
