The Rise of Skywalker's final box office tally will fall on fans like us who see the movie multiple times. The box office has improved this week and I'm curious if I can identify a trend in this forum.

Are you seeing this film more or less than The Last Jedi in theaters?

I love TLJ. I love TRoS, slightly more. I am going to see it as many time as my schedule will allow, which I hope is a lot. I saw TLJ around 7 or 8 times. About the same for TFA.

I'll probably watch it fewer times.
It doesn't work for me as an end. It's too frantic.
If anything, it'll play in the background while I work on something else.

No. I am over it. They ruined it all for me. JJ did what he could to redeem it but meh. My hero Luke shoulda been a great wise old wizard not a scared drifter. Never again should they let this many different people create a trilogy.

I have never been a fan of TLJ, but I love TROS and think it is a very re-watchable movie. There is no question I will watch TROS many times in the years ahead whereas TLJ will be one of the SW films I will only watch if it happens to come on tv (and only if it’s not the Canto Bight section of the movie...). I think TROS is just a lot more fun.

I've already seen TROS one more than TLJ. Not that I didn't like TLJ, just didn't work out to see it multiple times.

TROS less, that's for sure. I'm still planning my third watch.

    TFA - 4 times
    TLJ - 5 times
TROS - 2 times (probably a third one)

As my economy is slightly better this year than it was two years ago, I'll probably go see TRoS once more (i.e. 3rd time) in early January. I saw TLJ twice in the theatre.

(How people can afford to go see the same film 10 times I'll never know. More power to all y'alls :D ).

Student discounts (I've been out of school for about a decade but shh, that's our secret).
I see it once on opening night if I really can't wait (Star Wars, Marvel etc) then I see it on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Cheap tickets for first showings. I think it's like 5 bucks or something

Right. For a moment there I forgot that I live in Norway... Regular showings clock in at $20 over here and even the ultra-cheap company tickets I got for one show was around $11-12. Never mind; I understand how people OUTSIDE OF NORWAY can see movies 10 times :p

During the times of TFA i was living in Brazil and there the cinema is not so cheap, so I spent a lot of money to watched it 4 times.

During the times of TLJ I was already living here in Europe and 5 minutes walking from the cinema. Also I loved the movie so I gave myself the privilege to seeing 5 times.

Now, I am not living so near of the cinema, that's why I just went twice.

PS. Regular prices to see SW here, in 2d, is 8,50 euros. Nor expensive at all.

i make adjustments elsewhere to afford it (also go to the discount showings).
this year i'm donating the money i would have spent on repeat viewings to AITAF instead.

ROS is more SW than TLJ as i remember as i was a kid, the adventure and action scenes, and also, for me watch TLJ, i need to pay attention, and sometimes, i don´t want to pay attention a lot for a movie.
