Blowing through all of the good material? Absolutely. Even a morsel of the good material? No. I'm just chagrined that we got one sentence of vague reminiscing about flying - nothing specific about what drives her, who she is or where she came from. Even if she had been deliberately cagey about it ("I don't like talking about when the war came to Ryloth", that sort of thing)...there could have been an awful lot more done with this episode while still saving plenty of juicy details for later.

Running a blockade isn't going to preclude the events of the OT. The Rebels and the Empire were clearly skirmishing all over the galactic map by the time the events of A New Hope went down. My gripe with this is that it left the locals of the planet in quite a lurch - they just dumped the supplies and ran off, with the same Imperials they just humiliated still sitting there in orbit. I guess I would have expected the Rebels to hang around, ensure the supplies were put to use and help to fight off marauding Imperials. Having a small skirmish of that size over a mean-nothing Outer Rim planet could have given the Rebellion a legitimate background task to perform for an arc of episodes while our protagonists go through their Alpha story.

    Anywho. That's my ramble. ;)

I have too many questions about apparent plot holes to feel like this episode was any good. As was said in an earlier post, what's to stop the Empire from just subjugating the people down on the surface? I feel like if they want to keep viewers, you can't leave massive holes in the story hang out there like that.

What I did like was the Rebels Recon episode after the show. The fact that we now know that there are at the very least 2 major Rebel cells developing their own technology independently of each other, but managed by a central authority(Bail Organa) is intriguing. It could be speculated that that the Rebel group at Hoth was just the Dodonna group, still having not joined up with the Hera/Kanan group. That "joining up" of the entire Rebel force may not have happened until ROTJ, where Vader get the intelligence that a Rebel fleet is massing at Sullust. Very cool thoughts and info from the LF Story Group.

But, at this point in Rebels, I'm pretty invested- I just hope that they find ways to cater at least some parts of the story to the adults in the audience by just answering questions that may not be so obvious to the younger viewer. Why didn't the Rebel fleet just go around?(Could be answered by there being only one viable hyperspace route into and out of the system), or why didn't the empire just blow the people on the ground to smithereens?( Maybe they're pretty entrenched, and a ground campaign not shown could have been going on). I could be just a line or two of dialogue, or a quick shot or two and plot holes are magically filled.

Could the converging lazer on quarries over powered block aid busting B wing be the prototype for a much larger model that could be fitted on to a moon like space station???.....just a thought but could the Mon calamari engineer be kidnapped or seduced to the empire and finish off building the tool that brings about the demise of alderaan

The Death Star is already being built by this time. If you remember Dooku had the plans for the Death Star in the Clone Wars movie. I think it's the other way around. Quarrie designed the converging laser and it got incorporated into the Death Star. My question is does the B-Wing use a synthetic kybar crystal, hence the red color.

Personally, I appreciate the callback to the early 90's space flight sim "Star Wars: X-Wing". In the game, there was a series of missions involving the Rebellion's acquisition of the B-Wing Starfighter. If I remember correctly, it was called the Shantipole Project and was headed by a Mon Calamari (Ackbar). ;)

I'm glad to see them using the old material for inspiration. :)

Another great episode, I'm glad Hera got her own episode to show her pilot potential.
