You can hear The Daughter of Mortis in the background saying the line"I'm the Daughter" from the Mortis arc when she lands on Ahsoka's arm.

    Question:

Why is Sheev so concerned with getting into the other world through the Lothal temple when he can already use the sith alchemy magic (Like he did with Dooku) to get there from his own room? His hand was already reaching through the portal to get Ezra.

    My theory:

Vader went and told Sheev (Like a good apprentice does) of the hand that came out if nowhere and saved Ahsoka right when he was about to slay her. He recognized and might have been able to partially see Ezra.

But that doesn't fit the timeline, because in season two the Lothal temple plan is already well under way.

    Thoughts?

    Another question:

What does time travel through the other world mean for Snoke? Is Snoke privy to the other world?

Yep that was a classic encounter, the force vs sorcery.

If The Emperor knew about this place...it's not crazy to assume Luke knew about it to? The "its so much bigger" line.

Makes sense. I kinda read it as the WbW was sort of "unlocked" by Ezra. In a way, it's almost catered to him, too. That's why the voices we hear are all relevant to him: Force Users like Obi Wan and Kanan. People related to the Rebellion and onward, like Poe and Jyn. If Jar Jar had entered the WbW, maybe he'd hear Boss Nass and the Seven Wupi guy.

Without Ezra being inside the WbW, I imagine Palpatine would also be cut off from it.

Well, we also hear Rey and Ben; well after the Rebellion.

Right, which also I could see as a way to demonstrate the timelessness of the WbW with voices that could be tangentially related to Ezra.

I think it's more likely he learned that through his personal study of the Force over the course of 30 years - with all different Force schools. But, now being one with the Cosmic Force, he certainly knows.

I just cannot wait for him to troll Kylo. ;)

Probably you didn’t mean to quote me twice there.
Would it have helped if Ezra was instead confined to a phone booth rocketing through tunnels all that while?

I know this is temporal mechanics we’re talking about, but this isn’t really overly complicated. Ahsoka left linear time at 4:00 (let’s say) and came back at 4:15 (or thereabouts). So, she traveled 15 minutes into the future. It's pretty straight forward.
The impression I got was that Palps couldn’t get through on his own. He was using Ezra as a type of anchor. That was the point of the blue force flame - to grab hold and pull himself through.
Didn’t the Minister just tell Palp that Ezra went through the portal? That would be the simplest explanation.

Your right. But as far as we know, this is the only moment in SW canon that Ezra had the opportunity to alter an event. So we know it can happen but you would have to find the portal to do it. looks like once you leave the portal/temple goes away.

Ezra could have entered the timeline where Ashoka was fighting Vader rain her than pull her out.

So was Palpatine looking to use Jakku to save himself?

Jakku was part of Palp's contingency plan. The goal was to gather all Rebel forces to face off there against the supposed remains of the Empire. Once there, the planet's core would be collapsed destroying the planet and killing everyone on it. Meanwhile, his chosen elite would start a new Empire in the Unknown Regions. It's a sort of bizarre Noah parallel. I don't think Jakku will be revealed to have a function beyond that.

Hmmm. Se the think is there are no mechanics involved in what happened with Ezra. Take for example the world between worlds itself. Outside of time and space - but we see Ezra running. Does this mean there is space where he is? I think not. The representation of Ezra running is a device for the human mind - his as well as ours - to make sense of what is happening. The Doctor Who comparison is good - there there is (in universe) - a scientific principle that is exploited to allow time travel to happen - in Star Wars this is not the case. What we perceive as movement in time is as the perceived movement in space - illusory. Nothing we see in the WBW exists but it exists at the same time, kind of a Taoist contradiction and sure the force is heavily influenced by the Tao.

So using the Ahsoka example, first she is at time 4:10 - then she is literally nowhere. Then she rematerialises at time point 4:15 (if that is in fact the case). It's like if she vanished from a point in space and without any interim directional movement, reappears simultaneously on the far side of the room. No travel has occured. She just was in one place, now she is in another.

This conversation would be so much better if we were baked.

Anyway, we're probably never going to come to an agreement on this.

I just wonder how old Ashoka is going to be by the time the events of the OT or post-OT happen? She has to be at least in her late 30s or early 40s in Rebels. Wonder what the lifespan of her species are?
