Well to be fair, Anakin burnt by lava and legs cut off survived that harrowing dilemma.

The worst scene for me was the repetitive scene of the secondary ship bombardment before the onboard scene begins. Luke's 3 lessons were one of the best.

Lets get worst outta the way first (because I liked the movie)

    - Leia Superman. I actually really like the concept- it just looked a tad goofy.

    - Kylo shirtless. Reylo is not happening as evidenced by the end of the movie- so having this imo felt like pandering. maybe it wasn't, but it came off as such and left me cringing. It was so out of place and didn;t work. IMO Rey and Kylo have amazing chemistry but 0 sexual/romantic chemistry. It was awkward.

-To add to the above. The scene where they touch hands was so awkward. When luke came in it literally looked like two teenagers being caught sneaking into each others bedrooms.

    - Lets Go Chrome Dome. It was silly.

    - Canto Bight was a lot less interesting than I was hoping. I don't mind plot detours that upon close inspection don't actually serve the main plot, IF they are fun and interesting and serve as good character development (which TBH I think it did for Finn). So thats not my gripe as it is with others. I just thought it was too bland for what it could have been, visually and content wise.

-Hux was funny but always just made me think about how Phasma should be second in command. So much potential and never realised with her. But it would up the stakes of Finn v Phasma a lot if she had that position in the FO- and give her more to do, giving more weight to any of her scenes- and more potential for what sort of scene she can be in to begin with.

    Ok now the GOOD.

Porgs. They were actually funny and not at all annoying.

Rose. Liked her a lot. Not overly mind you, but I liked her enough.

DJ. Not his character, I was totally underwhelmed. But the fact he betrayed them. In a movie asking questions about what it means to be a hero, how valid is our need to make everything balck and white, and turn everything into us v them etc - they had a guy do a reverse Han Solo. He looked out for himself and it stayed that way. Great invert of a trope.
    And the GREAT.

    -Throne Room scene, duh.
    Highlights being:
Rey being a bit of a psycho fighter- she gets so angry and violent when using the force and when dueling. Its fascinating. Its like shes good natured and a Light sider... but lets the dark side in so easily. She really uses anger, loneliness, hate and aggression to fight/use the force.
her awesome move of dropping the saber and grabbing it again was EPIC. One of my favorite saber moments in the whole saga.
the brief slow mo of Rey and Kylo when they start to fight back to back.
the realization Kylo was only sinking deeper into the dark. So tense, so dramatic, great cinema.
But yeah my take away from this scene was that Rey is so aggressive. I love it.

-Holdos sacrifice. From a purely cinematic point of view, it was STUNNING. Story wise great too- especially after Poes arrogance in wanting to be the big hero- he was shown what true leadership was. As a side note- it was great character development for him, we saw the beginnings of Poe learning to be a leader from Leia and Holdo.

    - Everything on Crait.
    the epic standoff
the "I wont be the last jedi" then cut to Rey, her power in full view.
the falcon return, and Rey on the guns.
Luke and Leias reunion was beautiful.
    Luke disappeearing, also beautiful.

    - Yoda being yoda.

    - The dark cave mirror sequence. Gorgeous to look at. Intense. Good development for Rey. Just so interesting and well done.

    - Rey smiling as she touches the Rain. Throwback to her comments about takodana having so much green. She was on a poor, desert planet for years- and seeing greenery and rain makes her smile like a child. Its really lovely and was a nice touch.

My story wise WORST scene was Luke igniting his Saber over Kylo. That was and never will beLuke Skywalker. Middle finger on that Ryan.

Mark is alive, Carry Fisher is Dead. Luke should continue till Mark is dead. Stop saving money ass hole executives. Pat Mark or FO.

    Worst?
Leia flight scene, I wanted to love it but I hated it.
    Anything with Phasma was cheesy.

    Best?
Anything with Hux - sorry but Domhnall Gleeson is a *supreme* actor. I thought he excelled in every scene.

Of course though, Luke looking out to the twin suns and becoming one with the force. LOVED it.

First off i Loved the whole Movie.

The Best Scene off course it must be the throne Room Sequence, you guys should asking for the "second best scene in TLJ" and we have plenty to choose from: Luke vs. Kylo In Crait, Luke Training Rey, any of the Space Battles were really good, and the list continues.....

The worst is very difficult because there aren't Bad Scenes in the Movie, just little details we don't really need to had like: Porgs nesting in the Falcon, Luke milking the sea creature, the Canto Bligh journey could be reduced, Leia space walk should get better approach from the director to give us Leia's perspective of the thing, the whole Rey-Kylo mental approach seemed too fair fetch but Snoke put that in perspective after.

That Finn scene... hated for a similar reason I hated the Leia scene. I feel like I was robbed of a genuinely powerful emotion and a truly bold scene. RJ did a great job setting that scene up, and I agree with you it felt there was an "all bets are off" vibe to the movie. The scene was beautiful and the approach was drug out long enough that I went through a series of emotions. I started out scared he was going to die (because all bets are off) and was anxious about it, then I saw the determination on Finns face and remembered how badly he wanted to strike a blow to the FO, so I had time to enter a state of acceptance of Finns fate. I felt it was an honorable send off and bold story choice.

Then out of no where the power of that scene and sacrifice was snatched right out from under me. I felt cheated out of the emotions that built up.

I could have handled it if Rose sacrificed herself instead. It wouldn't have been as bold a story choice but it wouldn't have led to the cheesy interaction that followed. And BTW, does anyone else think that was the most awkward kiss in movie history?

    Leia floating super woman :(
Luke milking space cow nipples and winking :(
Rey saber pulling and knocking her head :(
Luke wiping rays hand with that thing when feeling for the force :(
Most of the poorly timed bad comedy :(
A lot of the force lifting was wired :(

The scene that followed from the end of TFA. Luke just lobbing the saber away. Was like spaceballs or something. That should have epic. It was his fathers saver ffs :( Arggg RJ I'll never forgive him.

A lot of bad stuff :(

    I wish I wasn't typing this....

No, I thought the kiss was sweet. :)

What Rose says then is one of the best lines in the movie and changes Finn's POV forever: We don't fight against the things we hate; we fight to save the things we love.

Worst: Luke milking the weird sea cow. It felt like this movie's Bor Gullet. Cool how it was blue milk though.

    Meh:
I didn't like DJ all that much

While I don't dislike it as much as other people, that Leia space scene was kinda far fetched (even for Star Wars). Wasn't as ridiculous as the identical scene from the Darth Vader comics with Doctor Aphra though.

I didn't like some of the humor with those Canto Bight aliens. While it was only one or two parts, both made me cringe a little and they reminded of Jar Jar or the Special Editions. (The part with the blubbery opera alien and the alien that was putting coins into BB-8 and then burped.)

I'm mixed about that Snoke death scene. I liked it, and it was probably one of the best twists in the movie tbh, but still a bit disappointed.

Maz Kanata's role felt a tad shoehorned. It was alright, but I feel that there was a couple too many scenes with the Resistance fleet. I feel like the space battle could've been a little shorter too.

    Good/Great:
For the most part the rest of the humor was decent to hilarious. (To me, anyway). That part where Luke is being an epic troll! Just throwing that lightsaber over his shoulder. Yeah, it was kinda underwhelming and a bit of a cop-out, but was still a really funny part.

Actually, most of Luke's scenes were pretty good. Some note worthy ones were the flashbacks, reuniting with Leia, his scene with Artoo, his battle with Kylo Ren/the First Order, and his death scene :)() was so beautiful.

That Yoda scene was probably my favorite scene of the whole movie. I gasped out loud, because I was so surprised and happy to see him (even though, I already had a hunch he'd be in it). Fingers crossed for Obi-Wan and Anakin in Ep. 9 (yoda ghost)

Rey and Kylo's dynamic was very good. Both were great in this one. Their fight against the Praetorian Guards was probably my second favorite part of the whole movie.

I really liked the main characters from the Resistance in this one: Leia really shined in this one and the tribute to her was very beauiful. Poe, Finn, and Rose were pretty good as well. The Resistance actually took some really heavy hits in this one and I actually felt concern for the characters.

The Phasma and Finn fight was actually pretty cool, even if Captain Phasma is like the freakin reincarnation of Boba Fett and Darth Maul combined. (vicious)(boba fett)(phasma)

    The ending was pretty uplifting.

Overall, I'm pretty happy about my experience. I really like this one and can't wait to see it again!

I have to admit, while I agree with EVERYONE on the milking scene, I have to respectfully disagree concerning Luke throwing the saber over his shoulder. It was unexpected, it was funny and it represented 2 things IMO.
    1. The state of Luke's mind ,right off the bat. He didn't toss it because it was funny , he did it because he wanted nothing to do with it. Immediately, we know that Luke isn't the same guy,and the humor will be of a different sort.Poe being a smartass at the beginning was expected....Luke trolling was not.

    2. It also was the scene that let you in that this was going to be a different style of star wars in general. It was a quick insight to the humor that would be in there, but a subtle bit of it was letting you know "this wasn't going to the way you think" if you will.

    Best:
    - I'll go against the flow: Luke milking that sloth and drinking its milk straight away and clearly enjoying it. ;) (I generally liked the insight into Luke's everyday life)
    - Chewie with the roasted porg.
    - Trolling Yoda (though the visual part wasn't very good, it seemed to be half puppet and half CGI (depending on the particular shot) and that didn't match well).
    - Liked the Crait world very much, it was partly reminiscent of my favorite Hoth.

    Worst:
    - General Zod, uh Leia, flying through space. Shameful stuff. Not only it looked weird, but if they were going to do it anyway, it should've been a quick sequence immediately following that explosion and not like 1 minute later.
    - Resistance bombers in action (How could they effectively operate in zero gravity? Do they use some sort of bomb launchers that give bombs some considerable kinetic energy?)
    - Poe vs Hux & Dreadnought (dumb joking & too easy to disarm the dreadnought with just single X-wing)
    - Holdo watching some 10 resistance transport ships being destroyed before finally deciding to crash into the supremacy
    - Similarly the FO was pretty incompetent and slow to react to actual situations.
    - Rose saving Finn on Crait
    - Generally didn't like Canto Bight much. I see it was some sort of Bespin replacement (with even DJ character used to replace Lando), but they tend to add that kind of stuff way too often into these films and nothing really matches the Mos Eisley cantina anyway. Try it without it and do something different for once.

Additionally noticed surprisingly large amount of very bad visuals (and I've seen it only once):
    - Canto Bight fathier chase - absolutely awful CGI most of the time, made me almost sick watching it, can't believe this was pulled off by ILM. Even rathars in TFA looked better. My candidate for the worst CGI of the whole movie.
    - I had also big problems with many of the chroma keyed (green screen) scenes where actors & props in the foreground felt disconnected from the CGId background. It very much felt like 2 separate environments combined together. For example during the attack on the dreadnought, on Crait, Finn vs Phasma on supremacy.
    - Basically many scenes loudly screamed CGI. For example all outside shots of X-wings and their flyovers over the dreadnought. I have no idea what did ILM do here but it was visibly worse than Rogue One in this aspect and that's really strange. It felt like mid-2000s level at best. Did they use some new software/algorithms that turned out to not work that well? Did they actually review their output renders on large theatrical screens and not just computers?
    - Highly varying levels of film grain in various shots (very disturbing).
    - And in general I disliked the editing work on this film, this wasn't very well handled. Disturbing transitions, weird continuity/logical issues here and there.

    Worst:
    - Most of the Humor, Poe and Hux's "I'll hold" Dragged on too long. And even though I get what they were doing with Luke on Ahch To, it again dragged on for too long.
    - All the Rey / Kylo bridge scenes. I like that they did that as a plot device, but it felt like way too much like a Disney Rom-Com not a Star Wars film. Even TFA took itself more seriously.
    - Space Leia
    - The whole slow chase sequence that was the main storyline of the movie. I felt as though nothing happened in the whole two and a half hours.

    Meh:
    - Canto Bight, the whole sequence kinda fell flat for me. But I didn't hate it... at least it got us away from the main chase.
    - Porgs

    Best:
    - Chewie, all of chewies scenes were fantastic. From the epic Wookiee door kick to the amazing flight through the crait caverns. Man, that whole sequence really felt true to the Falcon, Chewie and Han's legacy.
    - Hyperspace Kamakazie, The visual combined with the sound and shot selection was breathtaking and broke new ground in the SW universe for heroic sacrifice. (which there was a lot of in this movie)
    - Kylo and Rey team up. Has to be one of my favorite battles of the whole franchise.
    - Luke's projection battle with Kylo was wicked. Loved how unexpected that was at the end, and how we finally got to see Luke fully utilize his force abilities.
-Not so much a scene but the fact that Rey was a nobody. brought back that feeling that anyone could have the ability to connect to the force. Yes, some people are more susceptible to it than others but it still could be anybody.
    - Yoda and Luke, Yoda in general. That scene alone will make my future viewings worthwhile

Yeah im done after this one.

But how do we know you can't have contact with a force projection? Obviously im shooting from the hip here but what if the density of ones 'projection' can be controlled and thats why the dice were able to be picked up by both Leia and Ren. Or is it only force sensitive beings that can pick it up? Idk man

Agreed. The way it was filmed was definitely understated. It gave Leia a "moment" in the trilogy. I'm glad it happened. The people complaining haven't seen The Clone Wars or Rebels. This use of the Force (by the daughter of Anakin and twin sister to Jedi master Luke mind you!) was VERY understated by comparison lol. It could have been much, much worse. And besides, we NEEDED to see Leia at least once in this saga use the force in an active, meaningful way (vs. passively "feeling" others through the force). With Carrie now gone, I'm damn glad Rian did.

No, the worst scene was obviously Maz. Yeesh.

The best? It was chcok full of them. But I'd say Luke passing and becoming one with the Force with Binary Sunset playing.
