Midichlorians are like the bad Uncle in the family. Say dirty things and what not, but at the end of the day their still family and you have to deal with them. I could see them work as a leveling system for a force user game. The more you learn, the more midichlorians will "listen" to you. In other words they act as XP.

I’d be ok with it if they make them mysterious.

No. They don't really have to deal with them since they were very much a Jedi Order thing and we don't have a Jedi Order......

I don't think I like the idea of the Force and a leveling system. It's a reason I never liked midichlorians

"Midichlorians are like the bad uncle in the family"? Why? I never understood this excessive reaction to them. Midichlorians were not the Force. They were a creation of the Force. They served as symbiotes (or connections) between sentient beings and the Force. And midichlorians were also basically a literary metaphor for what should have been a symbiotic relationship between the Nabooans and the Gungans in "The Phantom Menace", which played a major role in that movie.

This does not strike me as nothing for anyone to get their panties in a twist over.

George Lucas considered the true nature of the Force was symbiosis : https://thecantina.starwarsnewsnet....her-explaining-the-nature-of-the-force.55009/
Midichlorians are the very foundation of the Force. They are the RJ45 plug, at the very end of the ethernet cable, that connects the computer to the internet and broadens its strength, without that RJ45 you just play alone, with it you're welcome in a larger world.

I don't mind Midichlorians if they are used only slightly and correctly.

The only thing I dislike about them is that they take away the mystery of the force. As @Xeven already mentioned it they are made more mysterious, then I don't see any reason to not use them in future movies. Furthermore I'm still hoping for Darth Plagueis to show up somehow (movie, novel, comic etc), and you can't have him without Midichlorians!

Why @NinjaRen should they "take away the mystery of the force" ?
They are just a media, the way to communicate between a living being and the Force... The true mystery and true nature of the Force remains preserved - to me.

Unless the PC gets it's internet from wifi or via a usb modem. Heck, in 3rd world countries some people get their internet via rj11.

I always thought they should make it so midi's FEED off the force... not necessarily CAUSE the force.

Either way, it could be a useful way for measuring force sensitivity

I think some things are better when left up to the imagination.

    Like Darth Vader.

We started off not knowing what was under that scary black mask and helmet until things about who he was
where slowly reveled over a span of 3 movies. Even after Return Of The Jedi we still didn't know anything about
what drove Aniken Skywalker to the dark side and join a bunch of homicidal space NAZI's obsessed with taking over
an entire galaxy of sovereign worlds.

Of course now its canon that his mother gave birth to him without knowing a man , his only father figure was a flying
snout troll who used them as slave labor until he meets OB-1 and his future wife , the Queen of Naboo who likes to dress
up like a clown when acting in an official complicity and then gets mad when the Jedi high council doesn't promote him.

As far as the Midiclorians are concerned , I was ready to walk out of the theater at that point.
I don't need a scientific explanation of what the force is and how it works.

And I certainly didn't need a name or title other than 'Darth' for those who chose the dark path.

Sigh! Oh God. The only mystery that the midichlorians took away from filmgoers was how the Jedi and the Sith were so strongly connected the Force. The Force . . . IS STILL A MYSTERY. It's still a mystery. Yet, for some reason, very few people seemed to realize . . . or don't want to exercise their brains and remember what Lucas had portrayed them in "TPM".
