Hello Everyone. I hope this isn't considered blasphemy by any SW purists here in the Cantina but I was wondering if any of you would enjoy seeing a movie that used elements and characters from both the Star Wars and the Star Trek universes. While some of the old ST concepts and weapons may not fit in well with SW, some of the newer things that JJ Abrams has done seem to look a bit more Star Warsy than Trekky. The action is a bit more fast paced as well and it would fit nicely in a SW movie.

Would any of you like this? Would you enjoy seeing a bunch of Dark Side using Klingons causing havok in the galaxy far far away or like seeing some wise Vulcans teaching some students the ways of the Force? How about a Twi'Lek performing the Trill union and receiving a Symbiont or some great tactical space battles between the Romulans and the Chiss? Would the Hutts see the Dominion as a threat or would they join them in trying to conquer the galaxy just to try to betray them in the long run?

    What do you all think?

the aestheetics are completely different, the reason for both stories are completely different, and one is based in a potential realisitc future while the other one is a fantasy space soap opera

I think I had talked about this long ago but I really would love to see a movie about the two series joined. While I do understand the points that Astromech Records says about both series being different, I do think that we can find some common ground that could make it work and more so seeing how JJ Abrams has made ST into some more action oriented movies. While many awesome Trek episodes focus on exploration and drama, there are various action episodes as well that would mech well with SW apart from many other aspects. I can only imagine the conflicts that the Ferengi would have with the Hutts due to their money grubbing nature. I can also imagine the things that the Rebelion or the Jedi would have to do if faced against the Borg or Species 8472. Seeing the Borg assimilate some Jedi while trying to imitate the Force but not being able to because of lack of understanding would be cool as well as seeing the living Force react to pro-life Species 8472 would be awesome!

I would love it! There are many great species in ST that I think would fit well in the SW universe yet I wonder how horrible it would be to have a Vulcan as a Jedi master. If you thought someone like Yoda was strict then imagine someone like Spock or Tuvok as your teacher. And don't let Kirk into the SW galaxy cause I'm pretty sure he would score with everything! No even a Hutt, Pa'lowick or Swokes Swokes can be safe from the Captain's charms!

"Nope" - to quote Matt from Star Wars In Character.

    Love them Both.
Star Wars is a Galaxy and Star Trek is a universe ... and to each it's own.
    Separate to themselves.

I was never much of a Star Trek fan, so I'd rather they never have a crossover of the two.

I have no interest in Star Trek, so this crossover wouldn't interest me either. Cool idea though.

Still a resounding 'no', although a Jawa riding on Kirk's back might be fun.

    No!

I do like Star Trek but for different reasons, TNG/DS9/VOY were my weekly fix for sci-fi and the TNG worked better on tv than on the big screen. JJ Abrams already tried to turn Star Trek into Star Wars, probably the reason I've never enjoyed the Trek reboots.

Whereas Star Wars is an epic adventure which will always be the pinnacle.
