Write the Opening Crawl for The Last Jedi

Hello all. Given Rian Johnson's revelation that he wrote the opening crawl for The Last Jedi and that it includes the word "decimated," I thought it might be fun to see people write the opening crawl.

Now, it would be fun to try again, now that we have a teaser trailer and one word!

The NEW REPUBLIC has been decimated! After the destruction of the REPUBLIC ARMADA by STARKILLER BASE, the evil FIRST ORDER led by SUPREME LEADER SNOKE has unleashed a massive fleet of STAR DESTROYERS across the galaxy.

Many systems have surrendered support to the SUPREME LEADER, others have been reduced to rubble for their defiance.

The newly appointed CHANCELLOR LEIA ORGANA summons the few remaining RESISTANCE FIGHTERS left to the remote planet CRAIT where they begin plans to slow the scourge of the FIRST ORDER.

Little time remains before the FIRST ORDER enslaves the entire galaxy. Hope is fleeting, until the RESISTANCE receives a message from THE LAST JEDI, LUKE SKYWALKER...​
