For those still upset about the rumored plot or lack of Luke....FEAR NOT! "You don't know the truth!"

We all know MakingStarWars has leaked call sheets that have been pieced together to form a very basic plot synopsis. However, misread I believe they have!

Watch Empire of Dreams and move to the 1:52:50 mark. They talk about how they kept the "I am your father" moment a secret right up until the end. If Jason Wards little minions were to leak the call sheets from ESB, he would have had it wrong. Hell, if an extra would have watched the scene filmed and reported back what he saw, he would have said that Obi-Wan killed Luke's father!

Also, please take a look at this call sheet from an episode of LOST. This is probably the exact same type of document being sent to Jason Ward. Try piecing a single scene together without the dialog and see if it makes sense. Speculation and added guessing is the only way this movie has been interpreted. Concept art and matching it to call sheets can give you vague ideas, but NOTHING in the way of concrete plot. This movie is still a mystery.

Lastly, some of the speculation around Rey's reaction to returning to the "Green planet" has been said she is overcome by the lush green landscape. I don't think that's the case.

The call sheet may describe the scene that way, but intentionally to mislead. I believe she's reacting to the thought that she is going to see her mother for the first time. This is purely my speculation based on my own interpretation of the story and what could happen. But the look on her face and the way Han is looking at her, it's like she is emotional about seeing her mother after a very long time.

Remember what Han said to Luke "C'mon, let's keep a little optimism!"

I hope you're right. Although I don't anticipate an "I am your father" twist in TFA I do expect there to be some ah ha moments in the final act.

Agreed. I don't think there will be huge reveals, but at this point everything is a mystery since none of the character relationships have even confirmed. MSW really doesn't know who is related to who and JJ isn't talking yet. Once something super concrete comes out, JJ will put it into a trailer ;)

It's easy enough to hide dialogue in closed ADR sessions that weren't even in the shooting script to begin with. You record one set of dialogue on set, and then record the real dialogue later on which would match the lip movements. Of course certain people like Alan Dean Foster would have to be informed at some point in order to write an accurate novelization.

Even so, Harrison Ford said back in 2013 "Exposition is sometimes very important. But there are ways of disguising it. There are ways of expressing it physical. There are lots of ways of disguising necessary exposition. But talking about it is one of the least effective." You don't even need dialogue to reveal connections, it can be physically expressed by other means.

That has been my theory about Rey being overcome with emotion at the jungle planet. It is a homecoming, a return to the place of her childhood and possibly to her mother.

I've been of the opinion that the family relationship, at least regarding Rey if it exists at all, will not be some big reveal. If she is related to any of the OT cast, we may know from a trailer or other media prior to release, and no later than in the scene when she meets Han Solo.

Why was Harrison discussing the problems with the prequels in 2013?

Haha. The prequels weren't discussed in my transcripted excerpt but it was part of a larger podcast interview with the Nerdist website.

I'm honestly a bit surprised that the question of whether there will be a Skywalker descendant in this movie is still a question. I mean, could they have been any clearer without coming straight out and saying it? "My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power too." You'd have to do some serious mental gymnastics and justifying to explain a) why they would use that dialogue to begin with and b) why they would reorder the statements to take on a different implication than in their original form, if there's no Skywalker descendant in the film.

I actually would take it even one step further and say that the ordering of the statements implies the character is Leia's child because Leia is the last mentioned. It's a common literary device used in both poetry and prose - you start with an idea/object/place that is distanced from the subject and then you iterate on that idea/object/place, bringing it "closer to home" so to speak. In this case it would play out as "My father (subject's grandfather) has it. I (subject's uncle) have it. My sister (subject's mother) has it. You (subject) have that power too.".

I think they want us to be thinking along these lines, but they don't want to come out and say it so far in advance that it feels like "been there, done that" by the time we see the actual movie. I'd be willing to bet we'll know who Rey and Finn are before the film comes out, and it won't be because of an unplanned leak. It's just not time yet. Kylo may be another story altogether ...
