2:48 into that video...holy crap, even back then people were on Star Wars' ass with the politically correct stuff. Why can't people just enjoy a movie without giving them blast over this? Jeezus. It's not like this has any bearing on the quality of a film and its story as a piece of entertainment...why bash a film over it? I'll never understand that...

Like what about just watching a movie and connecting to the characters through their situations and stories as presented, and not lacking empathy to the point where one can only enjoy a character if it looks and acts just like them? Is that honestly makes a good movie to people? The diversity ratio? How many characters are a certain color or sex? There must be a character in the movie like EVERYONE EVERYWHERE or else it’s “bad”? This is what people demand above all else, let alone as even a selling point? Sheesh.

I remember watching the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air as a kid and loving it, it didn't even occur to me that the characters looked different than I or that this was something worthy of thought. I just enjoyed the show.

Political correctness is fascism disguised as manners.

Naaah. To all of the "Old Guys (and girls)" here: We're the lucky ones....we got to see the OT in theaters, and do you remember the feeling in that era that we were left with afterwards??? It was an amazing time, despite the world state then.

We were kids (I was 10 y.o. at the time of ANH) and Star Wars was ALL that I could think about. No cell phones, no internet, and we were even MORE overjoyed when we got to see anything SW....it was like Christmas every time we got even a tidbit about SW......ahhhh, back in the day!!! :)

The thing is this: We got to experience a time, and a feeling when we saw the OT....it is still indescribable to me today. SW was like NOTHING we'd ever seen, and it was GLORIOUS. It was something that (I don't think) the younger SW fan generations will ever understand. WE are the lucky ones....look at it that way!! :)

Yeah, I know I'm pretty lucky. My parents practically remind me everyday with a story that starts off with saying "when I was your age..." :)

As a Chicagoan I remember back in 1983 how excited an eager I was for Gene Siskel to do this preview. One thing I never noticed until now is they mispelled Mark Hamill name multiple times. Also notice how Gene specifically brought up Star Wars being socially responsible.

Yes, I remember those times without the Internet. These were good times where people were more punctual and polite
