    Ben Kenobi. Easily.

I know it's a bit of a strange choice, given the shortage of scenes he has in the OT, but even before I saw the character more developed in later material, his character always fascinated me. Being the medieval fantasy enthusiast that I am, I absolutely love wizard and mentor characters, particularly ones that can hold their own in battle. Ben just nailed that persona to me---he was like a grizzled, battle-scarred mentor from a Japanese jidai-geki film. You could've cast some esteemed Samurai film actor like Toshiro Mifune or Hiroyuki Sanada in the role, and the character would be exactly the same to me. As a kid, I always loved the scene in the homestead, where Obi-Wan is reminiscing about the Golden Age of the Republic, about fighting the Clone Wars, about befriending Anakin...those descriptions always filled me with a sense of awe, and made me appreciate the character as the last remainder of a bygone age. I wasn't even sad when he ended up dying, because I was just steeped in curiosity about what he meant about growing more powerful from Vader striking him down. And I can't even tell you how much I would look forward to seeing Obi-Wan in Ghost form...every time, I'd be hinging on every word he was saying, especially that excellent scene where he gives a final warning to Luke in ROTJ. That instance where he laments failing to teach Anakin as well as Yoda is the moment where, out of any moment in the OT, Ben looks the most haggard, weary, and saddened by everything he's seen.

Ben is my favorite. His wisdom is eternal.

Luke Skywalker. A hero, who went from a humble farmboy to a lightsabre wielding badass, was a perfect character for a 6-yo me. And he became a depressed recluse around the same time as me, which is an interesting coincidence to think about.

    R5 D4

I feel great sadness thinking about how his giddy excitement at finally being bought was wrenched away from him at the crucial moment by a blown motivator.

However - as legend has it - he did that on purpose, as a noble sacrifice for R2 D2's cause. If true, then even more reason to make him my favourite hero of the war against the Empire.

I always liked Yoda. For many reasons. One of them being that he is very wise jedi and powerful force. When I watched the movies the power of the force really interested me. Not power like POWER!!!!! But power as in the true vastness of the force. Yoda seems to know and understand all of that. Besides, he is a little, cute, green, swamp dwelling creature. Whats not to like?

That's definitely one of the harder questions....

Probably Han or Boba Fett, I'm really big on the Scoundrels and Bounty Hunters

my dad still ridicules me to this day because - despite R2 being one of my fav characters, i apparently couldn't get his name right when i was ikkle.
i just couldn't get those 4 characters in the right order :D

I cherished the Emperor from the get go. When he touched base on the ship in RTJ, I was awed promptly. The notorious Darth Vader really bowed to him for the love of all that is pure and holy! Strategist. Degenerate Politician. Staggering Sith. All around frightening person. Had everybody tricked except a portion of the Jedi. That's right, my saint.
