Your ONE Star Wars wish for 2019: what would it be?

My one SW wish for this year- Ep IX concludes with a massive medal ceremony, a certain Wookiee gets two medals without explanation.....Force ghosts around the edge of this.....and each OT character gets a short vignette of scenes with them from all the movies, with their theme/score playing

 

..maybe we will learn that it was Chewies Saga at the end of IX

 

I guess my one wish for Star Wars in 2019 would be more news about upcoming games. Jedi: Fallen Order comes out this year, as well as a new SWTOR expansion, but beyond that we know nothing aside from "they're working on stuff". 2017 was obviously not the greatest year due to the controversy surrounding Battlefront 2, and in 2018 we got a very anticlimactic announcement of what Respawn's game was titled and what year it'd come out. I'd like 2019 to be a bit different, and to see more hype being made around the future of this aspect of the franchise.

Otherwise we've got Episode IX, Resistance, Clone Wars season 7, & The Mandalorian coming up this year. So 2019 looks to already be a fantastic year for the franchise!

 

I'll bend the rules and share a few wishes:

- Redemption for Kylo. It's probably the most important aspect of this story for me personally. I guess I'm open-minded about everything else and have no precise expectations aside from this one.
- I want to see Rian's trilogy moving forward and get an overall idea of what the post IX movies will be about.
- More Crait Luke merch!

More Hondo Ohnaka and piratey type things. I can take or leave all the Force sensitive light/dark siders, give me some decent space pirates.

 

A bit of romance in EPIX. Can you really call it a Star Wars trilogy without some romance?

 

Not sure if it counts, but I’m going to Celebration in April, so for selfish reasons, there’s nothing I want more in life than to meet Mark Hamill. If that happens, I can officially die happy.

Regarding the franchise itself, I would second some of the other comments that Episode IX is the most important to me, and I just want to see it wrap up the Skywalker saga on a satisfying note. If I love it as much as (or more than) The Last Jedi, it’ll be a bonus. But I have total confidence it’s going to be amazing. As long as they handle Leia’s character in a satisfying way and are able to nicely wrap up Kylo’s arc, I think Episode IX is really going to be amazing.

I’m SO excited for what’s to come this year in Star Wars — there’s so much to look forward to!

 

I honestly cannot ask for more than just going to see Episode IX with my usual group of friends and family that have been to every showing since The Force Awakens. That would truly cap 2019 in such a fun and profound way for me. Hopefully @Lord Phanatic can join me for an opening night showing this go around.

If I had to be selfish though, I would love to have a book or comic seeing Crix Madine turn from Imperial officer to Rebel General. It could be interesting to see if he had contact with the Fulcrum agents.

 

Episode IX to blow me away. Other than that...honestly I'd like to see a sequel to the stories of either:

Lost Stars - that book was AMAZING IMO and I'd love to see a sequel, especially now with so much more known about the time period...so long as it doesn't give Claudia Grey any Star Wars burnout.

Battlefront 2 - I'll be honest, I didn't buy the game and I have no intention of doing so. But I did watch the story mode and the graphics blew me away. I showed it to my dad later and he LOVED it. The chance to share a story like that with him again would be sheer joy to me. And frankly, I liked the potential of the character Zay, so seeing her pop up again would be greatly appreciated.

 

Adding on to that. I honestly wouldn't mind if they change Crix Madine back story to be Agent Kallus from Rebels show. He kind of already has Crix's looks.

 

He was already in operations with the Rebel Alliance before ANH, so I don't see why he would change his name, appearance, and grow his facial hair back out. Plus we know when we saw Kallus go to Lira San in the epilogue of Rebels, post-Battle of Jakku, he looked exactly how he did in Rebels S4. Two drastically different characters.

Sappy, but...

Wonder. I want the same sense of wonder coming out of IX as I did coming out of A New Hope, The Return of the King, after reading Dune, etc. That kind of wonder - that feeling - is hard to come by.

I would say if I could have anything it would be for the community to stop the in-fighting. I feel like there are a few genuine gripes with TLJ (casino sequence, etc) but that things got really carried away really quickly because some YouTube channels or really I don't even really know started feeding the fires until it became some sort of movement. I don't see how you can love the prequels and then hate the sequels so strongly.

If I had to pick anything else I would want some announcements for Ep 9 (which I think are coming soon), or basically just a full fledged Star Wars game that we haven't seen in quite some time.
