    @thrawn_lives

Return of the Jedi is my number 1 too.
Vader's redemption is my favorite scene in the whole saga.

    1. The Empire Strikes Back: This one is definitely the best of the OT and the best of the saga overall. Probably one of the best expansions of a universe that have ever been made and an excellent sequel.

    2. Revenge of the Sith: Just barely gets overtaken by Episode V. This film is an epic conclusion to Lucas' vision with all the plot threads in its inferior predecessors coming together to make a dark and violent tragedy that fits the coming of the Galactic Empire and the fall of Anakin Skywalker. I don't think we'll ever get a Star Wars film with this kind of scope for a long time.

    3. Return of the Jedi: Despite some shortcomings, this film is a fitting end to the iconic original trilogy and beautifully concludes the conflict between Luke and Anakin. Not to mention that the payoff of the third act is enormous.

    4. A New Hope: A good foundation to a great trilogy. Definitely not the best though.

    5. Rogue One: A flawed standalone entry with an excellent third act that is encumbered by a middling cast of characters and poor pacing in the preceding two.

    6. Attack of the Clones: Introduces some interesting elements of the prequel trilogy that could have been put to the forefront more effectively which inhibits much of the film.

    7. The Phantom Menace: Like the film following it, it contains political and thriller elements that would have been more entertaining if brought to the forefront. If this was more like Cloak of Deception, it would be higher on my list.

    8. The Force Awakens: An empty facsimile of a Star Wars film. There was so much potential here in its characters and its story that were ultimately wasted and the worst part is that people expect you to hail it as the second coming of Christ because it merely accomplished the bare minimum. Well, you know what? No. I'm not about to give J.J. a pass for this one, just like I didn't give him a pass for Star Trek. The Force Awakens' strict adherence to the original trilogy is what ultimately cripples it from being anything but bog standard and entirely average. Sure, it may not be the worst when considering objectivity but for me, it's easily the most disappointing Star Wars film ever made with little to no interesting content to entice a discerning viewer into watching it again.

1 Return of the Jedi: Darth Vaders turn is the most powerful moment in Star Wars + A Great Space Battle
2 Empire Strikes Back: I am your father moment is the 2nd most powerful moment in Star Wars + Han Solo cliffhanger.
A New Hope: Started it all, Ground breaking and legendary. Arguably belongs at #1.
Revenge of the Sith: It's emotional weight was setup imperfectly, but it was something to behold.
The Force Awakens: Star Wars came back to us, and gave us moments and characters that we could now never imagine being without.
Rogue One: What an epic tale of heroism and doing whatever it takes for the right cause.
The Phantom Menace: Star Wars came back to us, and gave us an epic lightsaber battle and characters that worked, but much didn't work, unfortunately.
Attack of The Clones: My least favorite film. It was supposed to tell a convincing love story that would setup future heartbreak. It failed on that front.

    for me:
    1-ROTJ 2-ANH 3-TFA 4-TESB
    5-AOTC
(yes I don't hate it and yes it's childish but I do like Yoda going crazy)
    6-TPM
    7-ROTS
(I had to read the ROTS Novel to become a friend of ROTS because I did not in any ways believe in the high speed switch from Anakin to Vader after watching the Film and I did not like the way Obi Wan handled the final confrontation (have a nice burn old friend Anakin and good bye))

TLJ climbs up with every visit in theatre (it would hold 3rd place momentarely).

Sorry, but R1 is not my personal taste. Although I liked the droid (best character for me), chirrut imwe, Vaders scenes and the more humorous moments. But the killing of all the protagonists one after another was to fast for me.

You guys get it too. Glad to see others who acknowledge it. Malus Dagoth, you and I are totally on the same page. The only difference is TFA and TLJ don't even get a mention from me as I do not see them as canon lol.
