SPECULATION Your Predictions for The Last Jedi

This was a story about the Skywalkers. Im starting to think i knew y Lucas left. Disney did reject his drafts of TFA but wanted him on as a "advisor".

But he left (or stormed out) & sed that breaking up is hard to do/ex girlfriend speach in the Charlie Rose interview.

I think he left because Rey is just a nobody.

 

Rey wants to go to crait after training with Luke, they get ambushed on the island, rey turns to her dark urges and almost somehow cuts down Luke, and she goes with Ben to see Snoke, realizes her mistake, and Ben and Rey escape to go to Crait in the end.

 

One question you have to ask yourself why did JJ cast Daisy in the roll of Rey the answer is simple (too simple?) if you put a picture of Natalie Portman and Daisy together the resemblance is quite amazing if Rey isn't related to the Skywalker's then I'll eat my Slippers.

Hmm, ok for fun then - I’ll play.

We did this for TFA, and I do remember being the only one in the thread saying there would be 2 mini sword fights in the end, like AOTC, first Finn and then Rey and that she would do a Force pull for the sword and jump in - sort of like when Anakin jumps in to save Obi from dooku.

Couldn’t believe it when that happened!! I got some stuff wrong too, so don’t take that to mean anything...I just thought it was a cool way to have her enter the fight and then in the theatre I was like “woah! That’s what I hoped would go down!”

As for The Last Jedi:

• Begins with ship going to meet Snoke. Hux delivers Kylo. Lecture. “Go prove yourself”.
• Cuts to Rey on Ach-To. Cranky Luke.
• Cuts to battle over D’qar. Finn awakes, meets Rose. Poe is amazing. They are saved by Holdo.
• Cuts to Luke with chewie and R2/Rey campfire scene. Agrees to test Rey.
• Resistance meeting. Holdo assumes command. Cranky Poe. Finn and Rose sent to Canto Bight.
• Cuts to testing Rey with sword. Then Force vision stuff and her temptation. She gets to see the full Forceback.
• Canto Bight hijinks. Finn and Rose see Maz, she points them to break out DJ.
• Back to Rey. She discovers Journal of the Whills. Luke agrees go help her, sends her to the water test.
• Kylo arrives on Ach-to. Either with KOR for a big fight with Luke (I hope!) or alone and fights Rey. Either way, something is revealed to have her question Luke. She leaves, put off by him. That’s where the “not going to go the way you think!” line comes in. She’s not going to like what happens with Snoke.
• Finn, DJ, Rose sneak onto Supremacy. Captured. DJ appears traitor but isn’t. He sets off bombs to create the chaos. Finn defeats Phasma.
• Snoke tempts Rey. Reveals something major about Luke or the Force. Or Kylo. Not sure what...but not a family reveal. Possible clues that he is plaguies and created Vader. (Yep, I said it.) Enraged, Kylo joins with her and they defeat Red Guards together. He offers to partner with Rey and help her but the good gang comes in and interrupts it. Finn shoots at Kylo. Snoke has already fled.
• On the planet Crait, the Resistance prepares for last stand. Huge battle. Kylo leads troopers to find Rey. He’s obsessed now after the throne room battle, to have her join him, grow her power, because...
• Leia reveals to Rey “he, is your brother.” Per the BTS reel where they speak outside on the Crait landscape.
• Leia reveals herself outside the base to distract FO so that the few remaining Resistance forces will flee. She is captured or killed. (Guessing captured)
• Luke arrives, in his X-wing that was burried under the Ach-to waters, per the artwork. He saves the day, or what’s left of it. He is the one Finn is cheering in the battle. The shot of the Falcon on Crait is them leaving the planet.
• Finn, Rey, Poe, Rose and others on the Falcon, per the BTS footage with rey and Poe there with her head bruise visible.
• The heroes flee to regroup, Luke has joined the fight now to help Rey, so they can save his sister. (Flee to Naboo?)
• Ends with Kylo, on his own. Not part of either side. Maybe flies to the Mustafar castle??
• Ok, last parts with Naboo and Mustafar not as likely but would be cool. Do think we end with the heroes in the Falcon and Kylo rouge on his own, and Leia captured, mirroring Han Solo from ESB.

The reason for the two PT planets at the end, is based on the SWNN report earlier this year that we’ll see 5 previous planets from the saga in the ST - and so far there have been none.
Also for J.J. Abrams recent comments about Ep9 tying all the films together and completing a large arc. It’s why I included Plaguies also. There’s just not an easier device to do that (tie them all in) that I can think of.

 

I like your approach.
The best things that were introduced by the Prequel Trilogy were the new planets!
I'd love to see more of Coruscant or even Naboo in the context of a good film.
Rogue One already did that in a perfect subtle way.

 

I think Rey is more powerful then anyone realizes. Watching the trailers I am reminded of something that happened in one of my favourite video games, Final Fantasy VI. Terra, who was an experiment of the empire loses control of her powers and becomes a demi god; I know it's random but it's just a vibe I got. I don't know how Star Wars that would be, but it would definitely be unexpected.

..a lot of folk wont realize how awesome it was because of fixed expectations.

i truly hope that when release night rolls around.. that most ppl will forget about what they want and just try and enjoy the movie - a brand new episode in the SW saga.. how fraggin awesome is that????


for what it's worth, i picked the top option.. as i am that lazy. it happens to be that she is Luke's daughter which was my instinct when i left the cinema 2 years ago. been up and down with all the other permutations since.. but i don't really care anymore as long as it's a damn good film.
had the top option been.. "Ozzy osbourne and the Queen of England's love child" i probable would have still ticked it.

 

When I left the cinema after TFA I thought it was clear that she is Luke's daughter.
But with all the speculation I am no longer sure.
Still going to stick with it until I am proven otherwise.

 

But Adam Driver looks nothing like Ford or Fisher, so I'm not sure JJ was approaching it with that in mind. It would have been funny in TFA when Kylo takes his mask off near the end of the movie, and Han Solo goes, "Aren't you that guy in that show Girls?"

 

similar enough, i think (especially their mouths/crooked smile). also, the mannerisms are very similar.

that said, i doubt his looks drove the casting choice, they were just serendipitous for an actor with very similar charisma.

 

Wow, I stand corrected! Maybe it was Driver's hair in TFA that threw me off, but yeah he looks like a younger Harrison Ford.

i questioned the choice too until i saw Driver in other films and actually looked more closely at the pictures.

 

Maybe when C3PO says in ESB, "You overgrown mophead!" he was talking about Han's future son!

I agree with those who say she will be a Skywalker. The only other thing I can think of would be that Snoke is revealed to have, through the Force, knocked up Shmi Skywalker and more recently created Rey through the same method. That would make them half siblings and she could adopt the Skywalker name...? Maybe. F*** I'm ready for December 15th.

 

Here's the 6 Reys i can live with & enjoy the story. In order of most enjoyable to least.

1. Reywalker
2. Rey Clone from Luke
3. Rey Solo
4. Rey Clone from Vader
5. Rey Organa but Han is not the dad.
6. Rey Solo but Leia is not the mom.

Beyond that everthing else needs huge explanations while tying me down 2 mor comics, books & vid games.

 

Driver could play Lando's son and make it believable.
He's such a fantastic actor.
