there were definitely ways to salvage the mess. goes back to nobody challenging Lucas perhaps.

i was kinda hoping in TFA the First Order would be the little but dangerous "resistance" to the new republic. i like what we got just fine though ~ both sides are kinda struggling.

 

Its like the Cold War going hot, or perhaps Nazi Germany slowly working its way around the treaty of Versailles and testing the resolve of France and England by taking small bites of Tsjechoslowakia and Poland prior to WWII. I think that in the aftermath novels the first order at its infancy will be portrayed just as you describe it. The imperial remnant seriously on the defense but also defending its own ideals and supporters wherever these may be found.

 

I think one of the novels says hat there was a last ditch huddle of the empire remnants meeting over some planet with some SD'S before the FO came around ...

 

Is that Jakku? The battle of Jakku? I played that one in battlefront.

Well, I watched AOTC just because I had to, but oh my I really struggled to see the whole movie. The romantic scenes are BOOOOOORING. Still better love story than Twilight but hard to watch.

I guess the issue with this movie is that we somehow expected it to be as a great second act as ESB was. And I could see a lot of details in common (like the asteriod field). BUT it lacked feeling.

Well, even though I am very annoyed by Attack of the Clones. Watching it is still fun for me, but very much because of the wrong reasons. Usually it ends in me doing imitations of Hayden Christiansen and Temuera Morrisson. But attack of the clones can at least be praised for not having the worst scene from the prequels in it. That honour goes to Episode III's "Anakin! We're smarting than this" when they're trapped in the rayshield.

I've actually been to this place at lake como in Italy. Me and my friends recreated the scene to great hilarity

It's not a great film - at all - but I have seen worse. Super-duper-OTT

 

Whaaaat? I dislike the prequels but I find the "we're smarter than this" moments one of the few funny ones. At least it develops Anakin and Obi's relationship (at """"""some"""""" degree...).

Actually, I find the whole beginning of Episode III very entertaining.

And please, bring us the video at Lake Como.

 

Well, I like the explosions and the fighting. But I think the dialogue in the first act is absolutele horror. But your right, those scenes do tell us something about their relationship and most importantly their friendship. It is why act III which displays the opposite works for me. A necessary evil

lol, I was speaking about Revenge of the Sith. But now you've mentioned it. The droid factory....with the most annoying C3PO moments ever. That was a low point, I agree.

 

If it had been in there since the beginning of the development of APTC then it could have looked so much better ...

True but a big reason t sucked was the Cgi which looked like a cut scene form a video game .
