I made a list of Imperial rank badges

There's a pretty good article about Rank Insignia Plaque on Wookieepedia. Basically, there's little to no consistency between the movies and series (and comics); as an example, insignia in ANH are different from insignia in TESB, and the insignia plaques in RotJ are mistakenly all the same rank, and sometimes the plaques are one row and sometimes two.

LFL tried to standardize the look for RO, but I think the animated show differs from that still. I can't recall what the liva-action TV shows have done with Imp insignia plaques, though.

So in short, is your overview correct? Who knows, but probably sometimes...


This is one area where I'd love for LFL to go back over all their films and shows and change the rank insignia plaques to make them coherent. (That, and please fix Palpy's wonky Sith eyes in RotJ!).

 

Yeah, Imperial ranks are not very consistent. The most complete list of officer ranks I've seen is at the 501st Legion Imperial Officer forums.
