I've heard that particular Celebration was insane, but I think I read somewhere that the convention space is much larger now since there's so much more going on with the films. So it's possible the lines aren't so crazy now.

I've organized several trade shows in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center and the trade shows are never the same size. It depends on the number of exhibitors/attendees/etc. That's typically driven by demand. The OCCC is enormous and it's my understanding the Celebration space has grown over time. I could be wrong, but that's what I've heard.

Are you talking about like that they only use certain amount of the space for the convention and use more or less as needed ?

Yeah, it varies by the show. The OCCC is pretty flexible in regards to convention/exhibitor/auditorium space.

Also, Orlando is popular for conventions so they have a ton space for multiple shows.

From what I remember (remember I was 17 at the time :p) it took up roughly 75% - 81% of the entire convention because there were like one or two places that we weren't allowed to go to

Yeah, it's all about configuration. The OCCC is bigger than the Anaheim site. I guess we'll learn more as we get closer. In London they were giving wristbands at 6am and I've heard the lines weren't so bad.

The good thing about Orlando is that it's big enough to never be sold out so that's the issue right there. In Anaheim, I lived 10 minutes away in Irvine, CA so I didn't have to worry about sitting in line since i'd get my wrist band and go home to sleep lol but the tickets were all gone by the night before the show started\ .

So should I be more focused on getting a wristband for a panel I want to see, more than worrying about waiting in line?

Great question. This is my first Celebration so I'm not sure. It seems they're using wristbands to cut down on the lines. However, I assume there would be a healthy line to get a wrist band for a main panel and then a line again to get a good seat.

Well that's unless you make friends in line so you can simply jump back instead of saiting in the back...it's always safer to wait in line..

The wristbands don't do anything to cut down the line but simply guarantees what part of the convention you will be watching the panel on if at all .
