    I was re-watching the PT movies as part of the SW marathon to hype up for The Last Jedi and I was thinking, what would of happen had Anakin lost the pod race? I know Qui-Gon, Obi and the crew would of lost their ship but do you think Qui-Gon would of fight to save the deal? or would they let Watto take the ship and try find another way off of Tatooine?

    I think, when Qui Gon made his bet with Watto, that he had already decided to cheat.
    Proof: he dares to manipulates the dice for it to fall on blue, so he could take Anakin with him and not Shmi.
    It's not a fairly Jedi way - but I assume QGJ had decided that taking Anakin was more important than anything else. He had put the little boy above the Jedi code.

    So, whatever Anakin's ability about racing, he would have won the race anyways... because QGJ had decided he had to win it. :)

    I bet Qui-gon would have just put his lightsaber to Watto's throat and said "Listen my blue friend, I'M taking the T-14 hyperdrive whether you like it or not." Then he proceed to knockout the toydarian with a force punch while Anakin cheers in the background. Watto then wakes up the next day in a sandcrawler lying in a pile of Republic credits.

    Or he just would have waited for Maul to come to Tatooine, then he would have kicked him ass, then everyone would have piled into the Infiltrator driven by Anakin.

    I could see Qui-gon get confrontational borderline non-jedi ways.

    Qui-gon didn't know about Maul coming. so he would have to find other ways to get off the planet until Maul showed himself. Having them cram into Maul's ship would be funny. I can see him going back to Master Yoda and say "I've encounter a sith lord/master and I killed him but I have his ship as an trophie"

    Best moment: when Qui Gon says to Ric Olié to let his place to the young boy. The scowl made by the nubian royal pilot at this very moment is one of the best scenes ever. :) :) :)

    The Senate and Jedi Council probably would've noticed they were missing eventually and sent someone to look for them.

    If Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were found and rescued, then Qui-Gon could've obtained some sort of currency or trade that would've been more amenable to Watto and then simply returned to Tatooine and bought Anakin.
