Those games look cool but is it possible to jump in without having played a ton of back titles? I had a friend that played them back in the day, the early NES games but I was into the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest games and pretty much ignored them except I played Final Fantasy Legend on Game Boy. However I later found out that was completely unrelated to Final Fantasy when it was originally released in Japan but they put the Final Fantasy name on it in America to sell it.

The demo of Unicorn Overlord once again while I wait for the game to come out on Friday. I'm also playing Cassette Beasts, but I'm ready to take a small hiatus from that for the Unicorn Overlord.

My XBOX One X got hit by a power surge during a storm and I had to send it in to get serviced, should be back tomorrow, and my old XBOX started having an overheating issue on bigger games, so about the only thing I can play on it is really simple games but luckily I have a bunch of old Atari and arcade games on my XBOX that don't tax it too much. So gamewise I'm stranded in the 80s at the moment.

I came back to finish Cyberpunk 2077. It's an excellent game (as of now), but at some point I got extremely tired of all the heavy choices and "no happy endings in NC" attitude. Especially when it comes to choosing the ending, which happened to reflect some of my real-life choices. So, after finishing another game, I decided to just see through.
I also feel like if the sequel is going to build upon choices made in this CP77, I will be replaying, since there are couple of things I would have done differently in hindsight.

this is the other AAA incomplete on my console too and I keep feeling I need to go back and sort it… I’m all invested in seeing Fallen Order and Survivor through first though

I overall liked my main play through's ending (Pan Nam and Nomads) but do have issues with every ending and Night City being considered all bad with a lot of focus on it being destroyed or escape from it. Many not being redeemable or saved with time together cut short after quests completed.

Makes sense storywise but everyone and everything seem like such a cesspool no with hopeful path except my ending but even then is bleak and away from Nightcity as much as possible! Dark and gritty with a lot of my bleakness/grey areas is my thing but do prefer having a good hopeful path as an option within the story or at least when in freestyle when free roaming these type of games.

Haven't played the dlc expansion although I'm sure I will but really hoped getting to play as a NCPD cop or special forces and wanting to do good. Not a by the books goodie boy scout but an anti hero cop or military that cares for the city and wants justice and peace at least in some areas of the city while truly protected. Makes me want a new Judge Dredd game so bad!

Oh, Terminator: Resistance! I might not be "objectively" the best game, but as a Terminator game - it's excellent and the best one there is (maybe except Dark Fate: Defiance - yet to play that one).

As for Cyberpunk - I actually took a break from it because of all the constant depressing choices. And while the main game is managable, that DLC... Phantom liberty is very well done, but it really, really pushes the angle, where every choice has (bad) consequences. Especially it the sidequests and gigs, where it usually takes several in-game days for those consequences to kick in. It's really like 20 hours of depression with some occasional glimpse of light.

Terminator: Resistance was never a great game but is the best Terminator game although I don't know anything about Dark Fate: Defiance. Since 2019 I've only known about Terminator cross overs for Fortnite, Gears V, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Mortal Kombat X. I've enjoyed all those crossovers but it's time for a new Terminator game!

T2's Arcade game is a classic but Resistance is overall the best Terminator game as it's a big love letter to the franchise and especially T1 and T2. Outdated gameplay and graphics is the biggest issue but does now look and play better as it got a current gen upgrade

Then you should try Dark Fate: Defiance! Apparently it's very good, but also very hard. Technically it's based on the DF timeline, so it's Legion, not Skynet, but Dani Ramos is nowhere to be seen or mentioned and it's otherwise a Terminator game through and through.

Looked it up and seems well liked but strategy games aren't my thing and I think it's only a pc game and I'm on xbox and so I guess I'll just stick to Resistance , which I liked anyway and the Dark Fate time line is very off putting anyway while T1 and T2 aren't only my favorite Terminator timelines but my favorite movies of all time besides the original Star Wars trilogy
