I haven't had the chance to read Bloodline yet, but quick question: was Leia already aware of who her mother was when the events of the book take place, or is the revelation that her mother was Padmé Amidala a revelation to her, as well?

Yes, she was aware that Padme and Vader/Anakin were her bilogical parents.

    Thanks!

When are they going to tell that story, I wonder? It's such an important part of who they are, and yet we have no idea when or how Leia and Luke learned of their mother's identity.

It's in the book already with all the consequences.

I think @Rieekan thought about Vader when he mentioned consequences - the fallout of galaxy finding out that Vader was Luke and Leia's father. When it comes to Padme, Leia did the research herself. This is the excerpt:

Yet Leia couldn’t relax. She found herself thinking of her mother—the birth mother she hadn’t known, Padmé Amidala. After Leia had learned her mother’s identity years ago, she’d done what research she could to discover something more about the former queen and senator. She’d learned that her mother had been present at the vote that had given Palpatine ultimate power over the old Galactic Senate, and Leia could imagine the despair that must have been within her heart.

Is that happening again, today? My mother watched the old Republic fall—is it my turn to see the New Republic crumble?

    That's pretty much it.

As @LadyMusashi pointed out, the book only mentions that but the exact details of when, where and how they did learn about Padme are still unclear.

I definitely recommend giving the book a read through if you can find the time.
One of my favourites from the new canon
