SPOILER Concept Art Leak 01/16/2015

My 6 sense:

-Vader placeholder could be Gwendoline leading the destruction of an innocent village in Act 1... causing Boyega to question his lot in life as a stormtrooper.

-Ship design does nothing for me. Looks clunky and impractical, but so does a B-Wing on paper. Need to see this in motion. The red markings as someone pointed out also lead me to believe this was an old concept piece for our new 'baddie's' personal craft.

-MvS as the world's most interesting man is interesting... it screams I'M HARMLESS and WISE... who else is wise... hmmm?

Here's an angle: Serkis is AND isn't the big baddie. Let me explain.

Serkis play an old blue alien who knows much about lightsaber construction... he's also force sensitive... only enough to be annoying and throw around a few riddles though. MvS is first seen as a benevolent figure... later we hear his voice emanating from his true form... which is mocapped by Serkis. (So Serkis does indeed play two roles -- the mocap and voice of the blue alien AND the mocap of our big baddie, voiced by MvS. The Tales from the Crypt cryptkeeper-sounding voice from the trailer is the force sensitive blue alien thing, not the big baddie.)

This speculation only holds water if the rumor from a few months back which mentioned MvS recording VO for his role in Episode VIII and IX is true. Personally I hope so. The only thing that makes me pause is how wasted Terrence Stamp was in the PT. MvS could potentially just be an old helpful guy. What a let down that would be though.

P.S. I certainly didn't leak it but shame on whomever did... this stuff is dull as hell. Talk about drip feeding the starved with crumbs.

 

The new star-fighter image is too close to the mock-up art. It's 1 - 1 perfect. I call fake.

I've been a professional artist my entire life and I've never seen ANYONE do something from memory that matched the original as close as this is. Its simply not possible.

Great idea! While I don't think the idea would make it into SWVII, it makes perfect sense and would be great for a more cerebral film (the kind of film I really like, actually).

That said, there have been rumors of a person wearing the charred Vader helmet AS IS. That is still kinda freaking me out..bad enough to be talking to normal Vader helmet but charred Vader helmet with glowing red eyes?? *gotta change my pants

 

I believe the mock-up art was created from Making Star Wars' PRODUCTION ART FOR THE BLIND description. The fact that the mockup looks so similar is a testament to either Jason's write-up, the artist's skills, or a bit of both. Group hug.

Underneath MVS' cloak there is a mini Plagueis grafted onto his chest trying to use the Dark Side to come back into form. The heroes are racing the baddies to find the Khyber Stone - a mystical element that is said to bring immortality to the bearer.

Im telling you guys…
The Vader is a stand in copy of Vader and MVS is a stand in for Palpatine. The real dark side master is controlling these copies to keep dibs on the Empire.
The tales that Luke defeated these characters are then taken into question.
Most of the galaxy doesn’t know who to trust…
They are just copies, not clones…not force sensitive. Anytime a display of the Force is needed, the big bad (Uber/Kylo/whatever) just makes it happen to keep appearances…
Boom. Lol.

 

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Except more Muun-ish. And maybe the dramatic finale unfolds near Hagrid...er I mean Chewie's hut.

 

I can't remember for sure but I think Viral's source said that's depicting them burning down a rebel base. Makes more sense based off what we know for it to be the village though

Also people complaining about the mock up and the real thing looking so close. I once saw someone who had never played League of Legends before given a description of ziggs and told to draw him. What he drew looked almost exactly like how Ziggs actually looks

 

The vanishing point is exactly the same. I am a professional artist and vanishing points cannot be recreated from memory.

My theory is that the "artist who did it from memory" had the actual stolen graphic on hand, and he traced the outline digitally, and filled in his own digital colors using the eyedropper tool.

 

I like the idea of Gwendoline's character taking the place of Vader here. Chasing down the AWOL Boyega.

 

For those of you guys who just want to 'believe' the new straighter mock-up is real... its not close, its a PERFECT pixel for pixel recreation. In other words, its NOT real.

 

So if I understand this correctly some of the people who run this site, along with a couple of chosen few had these illustrations but decided to not publish them, but instead write about them. To protect their source, I guess. And now one of these has leaked the leak so to speak. Right? Will make for some interesting staff meetings and much paranoia.

My advice: either publish what you got, and if you can't just shut up about it. Keep your inner circle as close as possible.

 

So Viral discussed a fake piece? A fake piece was thrown in with real concept art? All the concept art is fake despite what Viral said? Eli used the force? Eli had access to the real piece?

You gotta explain your point

A couple people on here mentioned the MVS pic being industrial. It does look like there maybe smoke. In that case...




On another note, while we cannot confirm MVS is a villain/sith, the first piece of concept art supports that theory. It seems like there are at least 3 main villain/sith characters:

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver?)
Serkis's character
MVS's character

 

I don't see the connection between the two pieces, I don't interpret him as sitting on a throne. While I was one if the strongest supporters for villainous MvS most rumors have pointed the other way
