Do you walk around school with a fedora, pencil in ear, and a "press" card on your hat?

Yes and I also have a giant 1940's style camera that lets off a big flash of smoke whenever I take pictures haha.

Also idk where to put this but with Jurrasic World doing WAYYY better than expected at the box office, I think that it can only bode well for TFA. JW is going to end up at $180 for the opening weekend, I bet TFA does close to $250.... I'm also fairly cautious about how it will do at the box office but the amount of blockbusters this year is amazing, and through inflation/huge tix pieces for 3D and IMAX, I think $250M isn't unrealistic honestly....

I was gonna add that camera too just too lazy to type and every time you take notes in class you put your foot up on a chair, take out the pencil and your little pad and take notes and wear your pants up to your waist like Fred Mertz

Snoke as one of Palpatine's dark side prophets, who foresaw Palpatine's downfall but wasn't believed by the megalomaniac Emperor, and then went into self-imposed exile before re-emerging onto the galactic scene once the stars were right 30 odd years after the Battle of Endor? Yeah, I actually like that idea. It sounds like an interesting arc to explore :)

Interesting read. I often wonder if we as overly eager fans are trying to connect dots that really aren't there, but the similarities/coincidences between the rumored TFA plot and some EU stories is hard to ignore.

This (fan) theory makes sense, and ties into the overall plot without defaulting to the even-badier-bad-guy sprialing effect that many sequals rely upon. It has a good connection to the canonical movies, without marginalizing them with something like "oh, there was this even stronger darksider lurking in the shadows all along" trope. By analogy, it would be sort like Eichmann trying to resurrect the 3rd Reich rather than some uber-nazi, who was the power behind Hitler, emerging from some deep Berlin bunker to take revenge upon the world.

As speculation goes, this one was rather good, I feel :)

Actually, I find this makes even more sense now, as it explains why flashbacks are suddenly a thing in SW. Flashbacks could, in addition to being an exposition device, demonstrate the dark side prophet's visions as what he has foreseen all along.

Of course, chances are this is just a random speculation that will never come to pass, but I think worse things could happen than this theory panning out :)

Honestly, I doubt we'll see a trailer at SDCC.

New info, definitely and maybe the first poster reveal.

I feel like they would save a new teaser or the first full trailer for D23.

Yeah, it's nice to see someone pitching a theory as if they just making a few observations and comparisons, rather than them saying "I've figured it out - Abrams has definitely based his film on this story..."

All the grand speculation doesn't quite do it for me - "Plagueis is alive!" "Palpatine is back!" "It's the Inquisitors from that cartoon thingy!"

I'd rather it was something more subtle. I'd be much happier if Snoke was someone we have not been introduced to before, but would sit snugly alongside these guys:
    Inner_circle.jpg
I mean, not literally one of the guys in that photo, but one of Palpatine's devoted inner circle of dark side acolytes or advisers... simply wishing to avenge their master's death; carry on his work and so on.
Something about about that appeals to me more than any idea where there is a ready-made villain waiting in the wings with some long-standing plan coming to fruition.
I'd rather it was some new character kind of picking up the pieces in the aftermath of the Rebellion's victory. Starting from scratch. Rebuilding the "empire"; finding and moulding their own right-hand man, their own "Vader".

SDCC is too big and all the big guns will be there. There will be a lynching of JJ and KK if no trailer is shown

I think it this makes sense to me. Though to be honest more than anything I don't want another puppet master villain. My desire and how I am envisioning Snoke until I have convincing reason otherwise is he is able to keep these guys and the rest of the remaining Imps in line. After the fall of the Empire the Alliance wants to restore democracy and Imperial governors want to keep the near complete control they have over their systems. A ready made plan of succession could work but I could also see a terrifying warlord rising to pull the collapsing oligarchy back into line and keep the military force going. The Supreme Leader reeks of a political and religious conflation and the 1st Order would be something of a theocracy. With Snoke at the head. I see him as a scary looking dragon/reptiailan humanoid that is imposing, cruel and brilliant. I think his reign will end when Kylo kills him and takes his place.

I agree. Plaguies, inquisitors, palpy all feel forced. But what race do you think Snoke is?

Whoever Snoke really is, given that he is being portrayed via motion capture, he will most likely have very distorted, nonhuman bodily proportions (obviously something in favor of him being Darth Plagueis, although I can't be sure that's who he is). Otherwise, they probably would have attempted to create Snoke's look with prosthetics and makeup.
