    If nothing else, these two bits are supported by what we actually know. You can see that Poe has a cut on the right side of his face (the side furthest from the Alliance Starbird) in the trailer:

    If I'm guessing correctly, did you get some of this information from action figures? It was said a few images of them leaked out to a select group of individuals.

    Yep I saw that mark on his face, I wonder how he got it, from a previous space battle or he may have tried to chat up a female pilot which ended in a slap, as for Kylo's mask the wearer must have been pretty scarred to need that much protection in the aftermath.

    Not to play devil's advocate for the sake of playing devil's advocate, but the "scar" in that photo could just be shadow and the lines of his face (that's actually what it looks like to me, even back when people first speculated that it's a scar), and the mask in the leaked Kylo photo where he's holding sithcaliber could just be an early protoype that was later changed to the helmet we see in this leaked toy photo (which is definitely "recent", since the design was sent to manufacturers).

    Having said that, I do like the idea of a scarred Oscar Isaac and a sith scavenger with an assortment of evil accoutrements, weapons, masks, etc. (an interesting take on common FPS video game tropes).

    I have to disagree. I think it's much worse to have a desert planet that looks and feels just like Tatooine but is not. What would be the point? If you're going to feature a desert planet have it be Tatooine or don't have one at all.

    To me it looks like a fresh cut with some red scratches. But who knows
