    Described as "Darth Vader: Year One", comparing it to the iconic Batman: Year One.

    I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of this new crystal canon. Crystals want to be used by lightsiders, and turn different colors based on who finds them, but Darksiders have to "bleed" the crystals to use them...seems silly. Vader's going to have to "Bleed" some Good crystal and turn it Bad.

    I'm all about seeing the Sabers being built, but the crystal lore itself, meh.
    I liked the idea of the saber being some lost archaic technology passed down by the Jedi.

    Anakin obviously knows how to build a saber...I just don't know how I feel about the Lightside and Darkside factoring into it.
    Who knows, it might turn out to be super cool.

    Kyber crystals aren't a new thing, they've been around since the early drafts of "The Star Wars" (later, A New Hope). Kyber crystals were also featured in the first sequel novel, 1978's "Splinter Of the Minds Eye" by Alan Dean Foster.

    I'm ready for 20 pages of Vader trying to pick up a tiny lightsaber screw with his new clunky gloved Vader fingers.

    Yeah, I know Kyber crystals have always been a part of the saber. I just don't care for how they are making the crystals "alive" with a will of their own. It's getting into midiclorian territory IMO.
