SPOILER Piecing together the story with teaser screencaps

Thank you for putting this together. I think that the first image of Kylo Ren at 0:55 is part of the burning village scene. The second image though could be where he kills the Vicar, or it could also be in the burning village scene.

Also, at 0:42, is that a Star Destroyer crashing in the ground? Wasn't that an old rumor that Kyle posted? If it is, I just never pictured it being so close to the characters.

 

I was just about to start my own thread, but spotted this and realised it would be a little too similar...
Here's my attempt to put (almost) everything we've seen so far in order...

 

wow the tie in the second teaser tht is in the hanger is nearly identical to the crashed tie fighter concept...

 

I feel like there is something really odd about Finn's movements in all the stuff I've heard. He comes down to Tatooine/Jakku, there's an incident with a village, he goes back up to the Star Destroyer, he's put in the brig, he escapes, he steals a TIE with Poe, they crash on Tatooine/Jakku, he meets Rey, TIE fighters attack them, they run into the Falcon, the Falcon gets away from TiEs, they get captured aboard Han's big ship? Seems like too much is going on here? Too much up and down?

 

It might be too much, but its really not too different than the opening with the droids in A New Hope in my opinion.... in which a lot of stuff was going on, and it took forever to get to the main heroes of the film.

why are you calling Jakku tatooine?

 

I felt the same way when those events began to become clearer.
I've kind of got used to the idea now - I guess it depends on the pacing... I'd imagine the moment Rey and Finn blast off from Jakku is roughly around the same point in the movie that Luke and co blast of from Tatooine in ANH.

 

It just seems like a lot of up and down action. Disjointed.

In Star Wars the flow was down - stay awhile - leave. This is down - up - down - up. Obviously we don't know everything so maybe it makes more sense as it unfolds on the screen.

 

Jakuu reminds me of the island from Lost. Every time someone escapes, the island brings them back.

 

And the last scene in Episode IX will be Finn popping up out of the dessert like in the first trailer and saying, "How did I get on Tatooine?!?" Fade to black. It was all a dream...

 

Is the concept art next to the 'CBS' Kylo art, underneath the image of Kylo from the first teaser, considered legitimate? I've never seen that particular image before.

 

Well, it is a legitimate concept, so far as we know, but obviously it is a rejected one, not representative of the finished movie.
There were a couple of things I included (such as the cyborg Kylo with Vader's helmet) which I felt at least may be representative of the tone and palette of a particular scene, without being entirely accurate...

 

Because I think it's a giant Red Herring - the Khan of EP 7.

There are lots of theories...

1. Tatooine has been renamed for the new resident crimelord - Jakku the Hutt

2. it's simply a codename to keep the Mystery Box intact

3. One of the suns was destroyed during the Battle after Jedi and the First Order renamed it for some reason

4. The Resistance has renamed it or changed the main star map database to keep it hidden for some reason

Some of the "hints" that it's still Tatooine:

1. In the Battlefront teaser of the Battle of Jakku (which is supposed to take place soon after Jedi) - we have Boba Fett (last known location Tattoine), a Jawa sandcrawler, and a crashing Star Destroyer that is impacting exactly like the one in the second teaser trailer

2. Moisture vaporators

3. J - Jeffrey A - Abrams K - Kathleen K - Kennedy (U)

4. Daisy Ridley's expression when she talks about Jakku at Celebration

5. JJ's voice and mannerisms as he's saying it's Jakku

6. Renaming in general in the film - so far we have Empire = First Order, Rebels = Resistance, Tatooine = Jakku

7. And mostly - it looks exactly the freaking same. Why would you have a planet that looks exactly like an iconic Star Wars planet from 5 out of the 6 initial films???!?? Just doesn't make sense and screams unoriginality. There HAS TO be a reason for the name change that fits the story...but it's still Tatooine. Roll on December.

Gah! - I'd just finished compiling another one of these and they went and released a new TV spot with more new footage in...

























(Disclaimer: I know - I missed a handful of very brief shots anyway; and could have put a few more promo stills in - particularly some of the Resistance base stuff - and I accidentally left myself with the shot of the exploding Imperial bridge-style window set-up which I just included in the final panel purely to fill a gap... I'm thinking that shot is actually of a window overlooking the hangar as Poe and Finn steal the TIE, you can see the hangar in the background if you look closely. Also, having seen the new TV spot, it's more likely the First Order staging ground stuff should come as they unleash hell on Takodana rather than later on.)
