    I really think this is bogus. Whoever 'confirmed' this on that forum was probably using this fan art as reference to his story.

    Abrams wants to bring new stuff to the table. I don't think he would want to use a character from a video game.

    The announcement that EU was no longer cannon was made for a reason.

    Yes, Agreed, with that reason being to not limit the VII film makers in what they could/couldn't do with this movie.

    While this imange may be legit, I have a hard time believing that JJ & co. would use character looking like this and have nobody point out the likeness to Revan. I feel it would go directly against their desire for creative flexibility.

    It is a neat-looking charachter, though! :D

    Agreed. The hilt is silly and would not function. The nodes would be lopped off along with the user's hands. Totally NOT going to be in any movie, this looks like fan art.

    Exactly. A saber design this poor is the biggest clue this is not appearing in the movie, that and the guy looks just like Darth Revan. If they can't come up with a new threat we haven't seen in books or video games then I fear for the story. It's a big galaxy... Darth Revan or even someone who looks just like him? No way. This character will not be our villain me thinks. I think the new baddie will be a character we have not seen.

    Just to be clear... the hilt is ridiculous. Possibly the worst saber concept I have ever seen.

    old Bioware was great; play the Infinity engine games, they're great. the first Mass Effect was also awesome, but after that they pretty much started sucking...

    and that lightsaber looks so lame. it's perfect for the 12 year old posing in his Halloween costume, though!

    All this Revan talk and the similarities with the look makes me wonder if this could be the reason they pulled Revan from the Clone Wars tv show.
    Wasn't he supposed to be in the episode where Yoda meets Bane's spirit in the crypt?
