    I'd like to ask how can anyone judge a film by its plot synopsis alone?

    How can you tell if VII will be good or bad by reading MSW? Talk about judging a book by its cover.

    This was Star Wars' problem from its origin. Studios looked at the summary of what Episode IV was about and rejected it. The premise seemed RIDICULOUS. Even Mozart had this problem, the exposition in Magic Flute is RIDICULOUS, but now many see it as one of the best operas ever written. What is the plot to Citizen Kane? After a rich guy dies, a reporter tries to find out what the word "Rosebud" means. That's it, that's the plot. And it's now considered one of the best pieces of cinema in history.

    Does MSW have stuff wrong? Of course they do. I can't think of any Star Wars film that released, where the spoiler summary 6 months before the release was entirely correct.

    But is MSW just being played by some sinister Disney plot to misinform the fans? Highly doubtful. And that theory needs to die. There might be a little "Mystery Box Mischief" going on by Disney, but the conspiracy that they have MSW on a string and just feed them bantha poodoo to annoy and enrage the community is a ridiculous lie.

    And aren't we shooting the messenger? What is MSW other than some fans servicing the community in the best way they know how for little to no compensation?

    Also didn't TFN get stuff wrong leading up to each prequel film? Yes Virginia, they did in fact get things wrong too.

    Star Wars suffers from division in its community. We know this. There's been entire films made documenting that division. And while there are divisions in any fan community (D&D's 4th Edition practically created a civil war for example), I don't think any fan community has such sharp intolerance as Star Wars.

    It makes me sad.

    It also breeds this brute squad mentality, that certain cliques, with certain opinions and friendships are the "real" Star Wars fans. Those people over there? They are "fake" Star Wars fans.

    Here's a simple test to see if you are a "real" Star Wars fan. Answer this question...

    Do you like Star Wars?

    If you answer "yes", guess what, you are a "real" Star Wars fan, no other additional credentials required.
