SPECULATION THE LOST TWENTY

I like the sound of this. Especially because of the fates of every single Jedi. We then can speculate about whether some one will turn evil or not.

This is something I kinda dislike about the PT. We already knew Anakin would turn to the dark side.

 

Partial: Kreia, Phanius aka Darth Ruin, Volfe Karkko the Anzaat, Xendor (maybe), Rur, Radaki aka Darth Krall, Trennis, and Dooku.


Also, three of The Lost 20 busts seen in the library belonged to Lucas, Coleman & Knoll.

 

This seems like a potentially fertile story point. We "know" the Outer Rim is undercolonized at the time of the High Republic, and we "know" the Jedi (why them, I wonder?) have some sort of exploration effort going on in the Outer Rim, with (IIRC) a big space station somewhere as a base of operations (*caugh* Babylon 5 meets Star Wars, anyone? ). And we "know" that several Jedi protagonists are going to butt heads with various evil entities and things in the unexplored outer regions, and we know that at some point before the PT, 19 Jedi defects the order (Count Dooku making the 20th, right?), which could easily become the focus of at LEAST one Project Luminous story.

Yep, I'm stoked

PS: Everything that we "know" is conjecture at this point. Beware, here be dragons!

There is enough material to cover several centuries.

 

It was a Thrawn Trilogy tie-in/prequel of sorts set during the Clone Wars. Pretty good read if you're a fan of Timothy Zahn.

As for the topic at hand, I'd be interested to see the topic explored as well. Though the likelihood of anyone leaving the order to become Sith gets a tad sketchy due to the Jedi belief that the Sith had been extinct for a millennia (1,000 years) in TPM. Since Luminous is reportedly set only a few hundred years before the films they'd either have to have anyone that encounters a Sith either die or never return to known space.

That or Pablo Hidalgo will come up with some sorta loophole to fit it in. Who knows.

 

Maybe they don't become Sith by name but are still darkside users?

 

Agreed - there is plenty of scope to introduce other types of dark side users, perfect example are the witches of Dathomir. The idea of the Outbound Flight being used and introducing Sith Gods sounds terrible in my opinion, at least the latter half. There is no reason why Jedi exploring regions could not stumble across force-users inspired by Sith or Jedi teachings, or have their own like the Zeffo in Fallen Order. My only concern with using the Outbound Flight as inspiration is that Star Wars becomes basically Star Trek...

 

While Star Trek does, usually, feature exploration as its main premise, it's still only one aspect of the franchise. This is also the case for Star Wars, which isn't solely defined by it having laser sword wielding wizards using space magic. Unless we get a "Space, the final frontier" monologue, I'd say there's very little reason to be concerned.

 

So something like Lost Tribe of the Sith? Sounds interesting. If there is a lost group of Jedi living in relative isolation in the Unknown Regions, they could bring back their descendants in future.

I agree as there are a whole ways they could explore previously unknown areas of space. For example in Warhammer 40K, the Rogue Traders (basically merchant princes) are often sent out to explore unexplored regions with the goal of establishing trade routes, identifying planets rich in resources and rediscovering human habitations that have been isolated since the Age of Strife.

Also, exploration of an unknown part of the galaxy could come about through:

• Faulty navigation systems- have to land on a nearby planet to resupply and find their way home
• There is a war in the Republic that leads to a mass exodus of people of disparate backgrounds
• Same motivations as American settlers, people who want to build a new model of society based on their own values and to them it represented a new beginning

What is Outbound Flight? Is that a Star Trek reference?

 

Been a while since I have read EU stuff so what was old is new again.

On this topic, in 2000AD's ABC Warriors, there is a period of time where everything has already been invented. In order to prevent 'infolation'- an existential crisis associated with the knowledge that there is nothing left to strive for- all the old inventions are kept in museums and re released under new names at specific intervals to give the illusion of progress.

Kind of like Hollywood at the moment.

I have heard mixed things about this series. In the near future, I may get some books to whet my appetite. I say some but I am a binge eater and a binge reader so that some may be a lot.

 

Also in Dooku: Jedi Lost, Master Trennis is mentioned specifically as one of The Lost. Surely this is Keeve Trennis and we will get the story of her leaving the Order sooner or Later.

Still to this day there doesn't seem to be a complete list of all twenty. I'm sure that's intentional to allow some of these to be worked into Canon.

 

They have at least 10 sculptured duracrete heads to create backstories for.
