I loved the soundtrack in this movie, with all it's callbacks and variations. I really loved these small pieces, like the hero fanfare derived from the Rise of Skywalker suite (during the TIE/Falcon chase or speeder chase on Pasaana) that reminds me heavily of this hero/victory fanfare in Phantom Menace.
Or the variations on the Emperor's theme, as I had chills when it played in scherzo when TIE Fighters fly in on the Falcon... Or the whole Prologue piece when Kylo flies trough the red cloud and reaches Exegol.
Soundtrack in this movie is probably my most favorite from the Sequel trilogy, incorporating all I loved in SW during all these years and adding more...

...hence the released version kind of dissapointed me. I know that the releases of SW soundtracks are suits and concert versions, not the actual background score recorded for the movie and lot of the pieces I loved in cinema, are simply not there. The intro is completely different, fanfares and short bits are missing. It is like back in 2005, when Revenge of The Sith had different intro without the martial drums and all of the other pieces didn't match the film.
It is pitty, more in contrast with the actual score (albeit as preview version without the traditional themes, like the opening fanfare etc.) being release as For Your Consideration and being more interesting, than the released soundtrack itself. The soundtrack feels lacking and I haven't felt like that with Force Awakens and The Last Jedi (which was unexpectedly overwhelming with the amount of music from the movie and probably almost the most complete movie score in the ST).

Is there possibility that we will get complete expanded edition? The legal way and not again assembled by some fans, ripping Blu Ray releases?
What do you think and what did you like/dislike about the Rise Of Skywalker OST?

We haven't had a proper *official* expanded edition of a soundtrack since TPM... And I'm also puzzled by how all over the place the OST album for TRoS is. Many interesting cues are missing and some of it departs from what we hear in the movie big time. I was so confused when I was listening to the "Prologue" track on the album. Gosh, I wonder what did the movie look like during Williams' spotting session. It was clearly way different.... What I miss the most is the prologue as heard in the movie (but we got that with the FYC version, so that's cool), Rey's training, and the action cue that played when Rey and Ben fought their respective adversaries on Exegol.

My hope is that now, after the Saga ended, they will work on some kind of massive complete release of all IX scores in one box set or whatever. I would love that... I'm pretty sure we'll get it some day. Hopefully sooner than later.

As far as unofficial/ripped releases go, our best chance is a score-only audio track for the home release (same as TLJ) if they decide to do it. Or maybe some unreleased tracks will appear in the upcoming LEGO The Skywalker Saga game.

Whilst I love the officially released soundtrack I agree it’s frustrating how much was omitted. It’s a great half of a soundtrack! Hopefully we will get an expanded/complete release one day.

I have been waiting for complete soundtrack releases from AOTC and on, since they did the one for TPM after the OT finally got theirs. I remember reading something after the TPM complete soundtrack was released that it didn’t make the money they’d hoped for. It’s all about the almighty buck unfortunately...

I hope we get an extended version of it, but I don't expect it to happen. It's a shame, because the soundtrack is really, really good.
