Ahsoka Character Posters Revealed for Clone Wars-Era Anakin, Young Ahsoka, and Captain Rex

Just as we were saying yesterday that we were missing some pretty interesting character posters from the latest episode of Ahsoka, Lucasfilm revealed on Thursday three of them! They feature a close look at Hayden Christensen in Anakin's Clone Wars-era armor, Ariana Greenblatt as Clone Wars-era Ahsoka, and Captain Rex, who Temuera Morrison voice-cameoed in the recent episode.

The posters, of course, capture the incarnations of the characters during the two sequences that take place inside the World Between Worlds but from the Clone Wars era, which were used to teach Ahsoka a lesson before she accepted to go back and finish the mission, being figuratively reborn into Ahsoka The White. What lesson was that? That's sort of the beauty of the sequence, that it's not a straight-forward answer and much of it is left for interpretation. So much so that we decided to do a little roundtable amongst our staff, where some of our writers gave their own take on what to make of the sequence.



Reports of Hayden Christensen's involvement in Ahsoka have been floating around for almost two years now, but even then, probably not many people expected we'd see him donning the armor. Temuera Morrison playing Captain Rex was also reported earlier this year, though it was assumed at the time we'd be seeing him in the flesh and not just as a voice. The actor has an open dispute with Lucasfilm at the moment after they gave two episodes of his own show to a different character and removed a Boba Fett appearance from The Mandalorian season 3. He is expected to come back for the fourth season, which is now on hold due to the labor strikes.



However, a leak on Reddit just a few days before the episode aired, Lucasfilm was mostly able to hide Ariana Greenblatt's appearance as young Ahsoka. The actress herself took a victory lap on social media after the episode premiered, while trying to adhere to strike rules:

We don't expect to see any of these characters back in the last three episodes of Ahsoka, aside from maybe a cameo by Hayden Christensen as a Force ghost (you never know). But there is a lot for us left to see, including a whole new galaxy, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger (we've already seen him in a hologram, but there's certainly more from him to come).



New episodes of Ahsoka debut on Disney Plus Tuesdays at 6pm PT/9pm ET.
