A new Disney Plus series is getting a Marvel comic adaptation! Coming this July, the team behind The Mandalorian’s adaptation is bringing last year’s Ahsoka to a new medium. StarWars.com announced the series with a look at the covers and the creative team behind it.

Rodney Barnes returns to write the 8-issue series with Georges Jeanty and Steven Cummings sharing illustrating duties. As was the case with The Mandalorian and with the ongoing Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, each issue will focus on a single episode of the series.

Check out the covers and issue #1 synopsis below:

The announcement of an Ahsoka series inevitably leads one to wonder if The Mandalorian season 3 or The Book of Boba Fett will get the same treatment from Marvel, but time will tell.

Everyone’s mileage varies on these types of comics, but there’s a place for them. In the case of Ahsoka, covers and issues that feature new characters such as live-action Sabine, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati are sure to garner attention. While we’re on that subject, this will not be the first comic appearance for those particular dark siders. Baylan and Shin will be featured on a “Master and Apprentice” variant cover for Darth Vader #45 this April. So while you wait for Ahsoka, keep your eyes peeled for that. You can read more about those to-be-revealed covers in our April preview here.

Marvel currently has several Star Wars adaptations currently running. Obi-Wan Kenobi’s fifth issue will hit shelves this month as will the second issue of Thrawn: Alliances, the adaptation of Timothy Zahn’s novel of the same name. You can read our review for the debut issue of that miniseries here.
