SPOILER Ahsoka S1 Finale Predictions

I think whatever Baylan is seeking has to do with the WBW. It's the only thing that makes sense to me given all his vague and cryptic language about wanting to end cycles and create a new beginning. We also still don't know why the map to peridea shares a lot of common imagery with the WBW or why Ahsoka's near-death experience manifested as the WBW. I see it having a much bigger role to play in the future of the series.

I suppose Baylan may seek a lost secret to accessing the WBW at will. Giving him the power to alter history.

At present, characters only seem to interact with it by chance or by fate.

Perhaps he will discover it but they will only be able to use it once before that way is closed again forever, for whatever reason, and that will be for Ahsoka and Sabine, and/or Baylan, and/or Shin, to return to the GFFA and stop Thrawn before he gets started.

It would be cool if Ahsoka et al, while stuck on Peridea, sense Thrawn running amok, the Republic falling, Luke turning to the dark side in his efforts to stop it. And so on. Except we the audience never see it. And the heroes return to before those events take place. And punch Biff right in the mouth!
