Well I suppose I'll put this here then. From @clubjade

#TheForceAwakens novel will come out as an eBook the day the movie comes out. Hardcover follows in January, not sure of date yet. #SWCA

Update: I posted the release date for the TFA hardcover on a status update post a few days ago but here it is in writing in case anyone missed it. Originally from Darth Spiriah.

Congrats to Mr. Foster! That'll be great!

I don't like those release dates, though!

Are we sure George Lucas isn't writing it with Alan Dean Foster ghostwriting? haha

It was said that Foster asked to write this book at the panel. My question is does it take less time to write a novelization? I know Hendig is still writing Aftermath which is a few months from release.

I'm guessing that was a joke since he said the other day at the Cantina interview that he was 90% finished. If that is so then I don't understand why the novelization won't be out till Jan.

Besides Matthew Stover, there is no Author I would rather see writing the Novelization. I loved his ANH Adaption. It was the first star wars book i read.

If the movie is good I will buy it. AOTC and ROTS are the only ones that I dind't buy the novelization.

The only novelization I ever read was ROTS, and it was extremely helpful. It really informed my viewing of the movie in a very positive way. I recommend it.

That's because I'm not a big fan of the movies, but I heard that the novelization is better than the movie itself. Thanks.

Apparently this is the cover for the novel. Though I looked on Amazon and it still has the " This cover not final " tag on it. Maybe they just haven't switched the covers yet? This guy is reliable when it comes to the books of SW.

It would be amusing if it's mentioned that Palpatine was "thought to be controlled by bootlickers."
