SPECULATION Alien character - Serkis or Pip?

I was firmly in the alien (who I think is the one who finds the lightsaber/box containing lightsaber) is Andy Serkis. Perhaps the alien doesn't follow them off planet, or maybe Serkis was being misleading and referring to a live action cameo (he was at the script reading, a waste of time for a cameo), or it could be Pip? Maybe put current ideas are just completely off?

While I don't think you're wrong I think Pip is the least likely scenario

 

The alien sidekick rumor turned out to be about the Ania Solo comic by DarkHorse.



People thought the black guy on the left was Boyega, Ania Solo was Ridley, there's the Mon Calla alien sidekick, and a droid.

 

And the Twitter pics of Pip at the Imaginarium was for a different project, non-Star Wars related, called HUD.

 

Makes sense, the concept art wasn't described like that but people forget just how much things change from concept to finished product

 

Dark Horse is done with Star Wars comics. MARVEL is making them now.

Right and sometimes concept art isn't used for the project it was meant for, it may go to something else. If you go to the "General Movie Discussion" thread I posted a link to an article on Star Wars.com about how they recycle unused concept art.

 

All Dark Horse comics are non-cannon besides Darth Maul-Son of Dathomir, which is based on unused Clone Wars scripts.

I'm keying in on the mention of performance characters. Does this imply that we could be seeing many mo cap characters? If so, would these characters be good, evil, or simply extras for a huge battle or something?

 

I remember noticing that one of the rejected designs of General Greivious was used for his bodyguards.

Even if this exact thing has been debunked I still favor Serkis playing an alien who finds the lightsaber because I like that idea too much

 

I've read the Legacy 2 books, their not bad books and take place far into the future, about 100 years ABY. Ania owns a junk yard and comes across a lightsaber in a droid, which sounds a lot like Daisy's character's rumors. The government at that time is a triumvirate led by an Empress who is a distant relative to Ania.

There has been a lot of coincidences between Episode VII rumors and this series.

I would not think the movie would have any thing closely in common with this series.

 

So you're suggesting some of our rumors might have gotten mixed up along the way?

We still have the AT-AT home for Ridley though, but I do agree the two plots sound suspiciously similar.

What do we have taking the coincidences out?

 

I could see EP7 opening with a huge space battle ensuing above a planet. Then we see numerous explosions as seen from the surface of the planet. Shortly after the explosion some characters see some pieces of debris fall down to the surface not far away. Upon investigating the debris they come across a light saber and the journey begins.

 

Ah, I got the impression he was working on HUD.
