    at the expense of sounding like a geek, but on my third watch of the film the film editor in me twigged something about the shirtless scene, and its not as just for skin as one might think. - let me explain

    when the "force skype" happens, this effect is achieved technically by the use of eye-lines, cross edits, low rumbles and echos, and great performances (in my opinion) we never know exactly how Rey see Kylo as she never answers his question before this clip. is it just a voice, is it just a set of eyes, but by having her react to him topless it tells us exactly what she sees, and of course a moment of comedy. its only untl they touch that we actually see a wide shot of the two of them, and then luke barges in and breaks up the fun
